Comparto con ustedes lo que hice este martes 29/06/2021: Mi día estaba planificado para ir al centro de la ciudad a realizar diversas actividades, sin embargo, al pasar por el parque Guaquerí, un lugar emblemático de mi Cumaná, decidí cambiar el rumbo y visitarlo un rato. Deje de ir porque fui víctima de robo ahí hace algunos años.
I share with you what I did this Tuesday 06/29/2021: My day was planned to go to the city center to perform various activities, however, when passing through the Guaquerí park, an emblematic place of my Cumaná, I decided to change the heading and visit it for a while. I stopped going because I was a victim of robbery there a few years ago.

Para colocarlos en contexto: El parque Guaquerí es un espacio natural de mucha importancia para los cumaneses, fue por mucho tiempo un lugar de sana distracción, la gente acudía a conversar, festejar cumpleaños, hacer deportes o simplemente acostarse en la grama, sin embargo, durante un tiempo la delincuencia se apoderó de todos sus rincones y la gente dejó de ir, esto trajo como consecuencia el deterioro de las instalaciones y el maltrato de toda la naturaleza que ahí se encuentra. Recientemente se están realizando trabajos de rehabilitación y mejoras, y con ello, los cumaneses están regresando a un lugar añorado.

Retomando lo ocurrido este martes, entré por supuesto con cierto recelo, y empecé a caminar, consiguiéndome en primer lugar a un ejemplar de quienes han habitado el sitio por años: una iguana, que al percatarse de mi presencia se alejó y a cierta distancia se quedó quieta. En cuanto comencé a moverme nuevamente, ella decidió subir a un árbol.

Sigo mi camino, y me encuentro con otra compañera: una ardilla. Sin embargo, mientras más me acercaba más corría, por lo que apenas pude fotografiarla. Ella andaba buscando comida y trepando ligeramente de un árbol a otro. Un verdadero espectáculo.

Al cabo de una hora terminé mi estadía en este lugar donde los cumaneses tenemos grandes recuerdos, y aunque fue un momento agradable, aún siento que debe haber mayor seguridad y supervisión en el parque para que retome el esplendor de antes.
