SEC-S18-W1: A Story with my Camera | Nature, Finances and Family

It's another week to explore creativity through pictures and I've got a piece to share with you in the contest today. From nature to family orientation and others, get ready for the thriller.

For this unique contest, I'm picking three pictures which has no relationship but a twist does exist. Let's get into it.

It's the rainy season in this part of the world, a season when farm produce gets water for their growth naturally thereby limiting the expenses farmers incur on irrigation.

Today has been a rainy day, the rain that persisted from the previous night didn't stop and made its way into the new day. The weather has been so cool with no appearance of the sun in the sky.

Even though this is an important season of the year as it enables seamless production of food by all classes of farmers either for family consumption or commercial based, it's also a season that disrupts small businesses that survive by the roadside.

I was at a grill stand two days ago, the stand is just by the road with no canopy to shield the seller and the grills from the sun or rain. This guy only does his business at night which means the rain is the only threat. He was about to set up the fire when the sky became cloudy and evident that it was going to rain, he stopped the fire and gave up on doing business for that night. There is bad in good!

Does it sound like this section relates to the previous one? No, we are exploring other content inspired by the camera. The context in this section is a metaphor that describes hard times and how people prepare ahead.

The economic meltdown has hit several regions of the world and it has been extreme in my country. Getting beef or chicken from the local market to satisfy the family needs now costs a lot even for small quantities, so I started something.

_Chicken

I started a small poultry that will reduce our expenses on meats with better meat production that will last the family a few months. Even though chicken feed is now very costly but at the end of the day we will get more from our small poultry than purchasing them from the market.

Looking back to some months ago, when I stepped out alone or with my wife, we only considered our needs. That narrative changed when we have an addition of two girls to the family, you think about their needs when you step out.

My girls are a month old now and they may likely swing into full action of playing with toys in the coming days. My wife and I stepped out to a mall to get the household needs and in the process spotted some toys that could be useful for our kids.

We decided to check the price before moving to the payment area at the mall. The computer was lagging so my wife left, I waited a bit and just when I was about to leave, the details popped up. I took a picture of the screen to show to my wife.

In conclusion, pictures tell a bigger story about an event even before a narration or description is added, that's the power of our camera devices.
