My Actifit Report Card: May 4 2021 - Harvesting & Preserving food

This is what happens when I don't pick my fruit before it gets completely ripe

Having a lot of fruit trees has it's advantages but when everything starts getting ripe at the same time, if I want to keep it, I have to pick it before the birds do. I have two huge guava trees that keep on giving and a gang of papaya trees. I have several more that have popped up from seeds that are just now starting to produces.

If course everything is all spread out so I have to walk around the property to get to everything. Some of the fruit is so high up, a fruit picker is a must for me.

I love having all the birds around and I usually leave a few for them but if I left the fruit to fall off the tree, there wouldn't be any left. LoL

Today I cut up and froze papayas and bananas that were about to get too ripe

The chickens get the peels and seeds. I have to cut the peels in small pieces or they won't eat them

I bought my organic flour, rice and beans from the health food store. This morning I had to put it in baggies so the bugs and ants that manage to creep in don't get to it.

I was going to make brownies, banana bread and hummus for Fridays market but guess I'll have to do it tomorrow. I'm too exhausted.

Time to chill out and get a good night's rest and get an early start tomorrow.
