Look like there are a lot of actions in this book that is normal for nowadays. I believe int eh past the books were more to develop the thinking and to make kids curious about the solution of the mystery, they all were discussing what they think but nowadays everything is changed. It seems our generation read much more and even professional literature when online is so short unlike our think books containing a lot of info.
Yes I think so too. Looking at recent children's books, they are very easy to read. But therefore I think it may be difficult to develop their thinking by reading these books.
As to this book, the text is the same as the first edition, but the illustrations are quite modern. It's a pity because it's quite different from the image I had of this series :(
