Van Gogh Sunset - Actifit: May 6 2022
Sometimes haze is beautiful. At the lake, I found that in most directions I looked the sky was fairly clear. But in the direction of the setting sun it was quite hazy. But I decided it turned the sun into a lovely impressionist painting.
As you can see, there is a buoy out in the water in the second one. Those have just appeared in the water, now that the ice is finally fully melted and people are getting ready to put their boats in the water. They are actually markers, as there aren’t enough boat slips for everyone who wants to keep their boat there, so the allow quite a few to “dock” out in the water.
Now I know what you’re thinking: “Van Gogh wasn’t technically an impressionist. He was a post-impressionist. And yes, you are absolutely right. How silly of me!
