The 2024 Asam Kareng II Festival is Officially Held, Dozens of Mothers Participate.
Dozens of mothers from various sub-districts from Samalanga to Gandapura, Bireuen, Sunday, 10/27/2024, participated in the asam kareng cooking festival and also donated blood. The activity took place in the Meuligoe yard of the Bireuen Regent.
The festival was held by Subdenpom IM/1-1 in order to celebrate the 79th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (HUT TNI) this year, the 25th Anniversary (HUT) of Bireuen and also World Mental Health Day this year.
The festival was attended by 25 groups of mothers, each group of two mothers. The activity was carried out by Dansubdenpom IM/1-1 Bireuen in collaboration with the The Power of Emak-Emak (TPEE) Bireuen community and Meurak Jeumpa Institut Bireuen.
In the festival, the raw materials provided by the committee range from lemongrass leaves, belly lime leaves, sunti acid, onions, chilies, kareng fish, cooking oil, cayenne pepper and ground caprok.
The purpose of the activity as part of preserving the culture of the indigenous people cooking kareng acid, one of Aceh's traditional foods that is starting to disappear.
Dansubdenpom IM/1-1 Bireuen, Captain CPM Andy Setiawan said that kareng acid is a traditional Acehnese food inherited from the indigenous people. The festival is one of the efforts to preserve it, so that Aceh's traditional food will continue to be known and remain sustainable.
Acting (Pj) Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin SH MM in his speech opening the festival, among other things said, the participants are welcome to compete in the festival, take part in the cultural festival in an effort to maintain the origins and preserve the culture so that it is not lost in time.
The committee has prepared various preparations as an effort for the success of the successful festival.
"The festival is an effort to introduce Aceh's traditional cultural heritage that is starting to disappear for the younger generation," he said.
Acting Regent of Bireuen accompanied by the Bireuen District Attorney, Danyonif 113/JS, Dansubdenpom Bireuen and others saw the festival up close and gave encouragement for success. Then saw the medical team who were also part of the festival.
