It happened on this day - 5th Jan in 1930
On this day, 5th Jan 1930, one of the most famous criminal duos was formed as Bonnie met Clyde....
Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow met in Dallas, Texas, on this day in 1930. At the time, Bonnie was a waitress and Clyde was already a known criminal. They were introduced through a mutual acquaintance, and their relationship quickly turned romantic.
Clyde was initially in and out of prison, and during one of his stints, he and Bonnie began writing to each other, strengthening their bond. When Clyde was released from prison in 1932, they became partners in crime, embarking on a series of bank robberies and violent acts together. This marked the beginning of their notorious crime spree.
Their reign of terror ended in a dramatic confrontation on May 23, 1934, near Gibsland, Louisiana. The couple was ambushed by a team of law enforcement officers led by former Texas Ranger Frank Hamer. After a lengthy gun battle, they were both killed in a hail of bullets.
