The Aceh P...Peusangan River Watershed Appreciation Evening Festival, Held

The Aceh Provincial Government strongly supports the Peusangan Watershed Watershed Appreciation Night Festival.

This was conveyed by the Acting Governor of Aceh, Bustami Hamzah, represented by the Head of the Aceh Culture and Tourism Service, Almuniza Kamal at the Appreciation Night for the Peusangan Watershed Festival as one of the Community's Cultural Heritage.

This activity was organized by the Bireuen Education and Culture Service together with the Krueng Peusangan Watershed (DAS) Forum (FDKP), Saturday evening 22 June 2024 in the courtyard of the Bireuen Pendopo.

Aceh Governor officials hope that this activity can become a permanent agenda as a form of encouragement for the community to care about Krung Peusangan.

Thus, preserving the Peusangan watershed is not only an activity for the benefit of the environment but also part of a moral responsibility considering that the existence of this river cannot be separated from the history of Aceh.

"After all, Krung Peusangan is part of the Acehnese civilization itself," he said

The Acting Governor of Aceh hopes that this activity will be useful and can become a batik for all of us to care about preserving the Krueng Peusangan river basin.

Thank you to the FDKP of the Bireuen Regency Government for initiating this activity. We hope that the Peusangan Watershed will always maintain its beautiful environment for the survival of our children and grandchildren in the future.

Bireuen Regional Secretary, Ir Ibrahim Ahmad said, as one of the districts drained by Krueng Peusangan, Bireuen Regency is aware of the importance of sustainability of the Krueng Peusangan watershed ecosystem.

Moreover, the need for clean water in Bireuen Regency is supplied from Krueng Peusangan.

So through this activity it is hoped that it can increase awareness and the active role of the community in making efforts to utilize and save the Krueng Peusangan watershed.

Apart from that, promoting a number of tourist destinations and encouraging the birth of regulations that support efforts to utilize the Krueng Peusangan watershed area.

The preservation of the Krueng Peusangan watershed is our collective responsibility so that in the future it can become a legacy for our children and grandchildren and can provide economic value to the communities around the Krueng Peusangan watershed area while maintaining harmony between humans and nature.

The Bireuen Regional Secretary invites all parties, including individuals, the private sector, communities and institutions to unite in protecting, preserving and maintaining the Krueng Peusangan watershed ecosystem so that we can continue to benefit from the Krueng Peusangan watershed area in a sustainable manner.

To those who have consistently made efforts to preserve the Krueng Peusangan watershed, the Bireuen Regency Government would like to express its deepest gratitude for continuing to work to preserve the Krueng Peusangan watershed.

The activity was filled with cultural arts performances and the presentation of various awards to watershed conservation practitioners.
