Issuing a Circular, the Acting Governor of Aceh Asks Parents to Take Their Children to the First Day of School.
Acting (Acting) Governor of Aceh, Bustami, SE, MSi asked parents to accompany their children on the first day of school.
This was conveyed by Bustami in Circular Letter Number 400.3/8112 dated 12 July 2024 concerning the Implementation and Strengthening of the Transition of Early Childhood Education/Raudhatul Athfal to Primary School/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Early Class.
This circular aims to strengthen the transition from PAUD to early grade SD/MI so that children feel comfortable and safe when starting a new level of education.
One of the important points in this circular is an appeal to parents to take their children on the first day of primary school/MI school.
Bustami in his circular emphasized that the introduction to the school environment for new students must be carried out in a fun way and in accordance with local wisdom.
Therefore, he asked schools to carry out an introduction to the learning environment for new students accompanied by parents/guardians in the first two weeks of the new school year.
"This is intended to make children feel more comfortable and safe when they are in a new school environment," wrote Bustami.
Bustami also instructed State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and Contract Workers who have children aged PAUD/RA and SD/MI early grades to take their children on the first day of school and are not required to attend the morning assembly, Monday 15 July 2024.
"This policy is expected to help children adapt to the new school environment more easily and smoothly," said Bustami.
In the circular, Bustami also asked schools to have a learning activity plan to get an initial picture of students' abilities through an initial assessment.
The results of this initial assessment can then be used as a basis for planning learning activities during the school year.
Furthermore, he requested that learning in early grade PAUD/RA and SD/MI units must also be carried out taking into account the learning needs of students from PAUD/RA to grade 2 SD/MI.
Education units need to adapt their services to be able to facilitate students who have never received skills development through PAUD/RA units.
