Coin-Doubler + Sock Puppet accounts

in STEEM WATCHER11 months ago

Just wondering if anything can be done about Coin-Doubler and the many sock puppet accounts associated with it to provide proof for unsuspecting users.

Most of these sock puppet posts say they got double their STEEM back in just 56 days. However, looking through the transactions of users who have sent over their STEEM, NOBODY gets their initial investment back in 56 days, never mind double the amount. The returns start off looking promising, but the amount quickly declines every few days until they are left with a drip feed of tiny fractional amounts each day.

I'd like to know how long it takes someone to get double back because I guarantee it isn't 56 days like all the sock-puppet accounts promote. I bet it takes years!

It's just a dishonest, manipulative and spammy service and not the sort of thing that new users need to see. It's a terrible service that makes Steemit look bad.

Most people know that the promise of double your coins back is the No.1 scam used by criminals in the Crypto space. Well, most people, except for new people who are exploring crypto for the first time. These are the people they are targetting, and it's disgusting behaviour that gives all crypto a bad name.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't think this spammy coin doubling is good for Steemit. Any service that makes Steemit look bad shouldn't be allowed.

Thanks for discussing the matter. We have also noticed this. They have big investors backing them, but we believe they've started engaging in scam activities. We're confident of this, but we'll need more time to investigate the case.
