During the seventies, we had a winter that was so severe that my father was asked to clear the road with his tractor. The snow drifted so high it reached the electric and telephone wires on the poles. It was so high the snow plows were unable to clear a path. Before that, in the late 30s and 40s, the temperatures were so high that people feared the 70s heralded a return to a new Little Ice Age. Sometimes climate change is a matter of perspective.
