Hello #SaturdayMemories Community, This time I would like to take you with me straight to Siem Reap. Cambodia has one of the most beautiful sunsets and people will amaze you. Such a kind and full of smiles people. Not only that. As it happens, Park Hyatt Siem Reap dinner is a special treat and we want to tell you all about it. Without further ado, let’s get to the Park Hyatt Siem Reap dinner review.

Park Hyatt Siem Reap Dining Room Ambient

Zen-inspired courtyard design is inviting throughout the day, but it is most desirable during dinner time. There are a few reasons for that, not just the pleasing evening temperatures and reflecting waters. It is also about the torches and folk music combined with various acts, including the Apsara dance and Bokator, an ancient martial art.

No wonder that outdoor tables are in high demand, but the cushioned swing is worth mentioning as well. Not only that, let’s not forget about the impressive indoor design of a Dining Room. Undoubtedly, contrasting white and dark brown tones shine brightest in the morning, right along with the comfortable modern furnishing.

Park Hyatt Siem Reap Food Review

It goes without saying that the menu at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap keeps changing. Despite that, we are sure you’ll find some sustainable seafood and local delicacies whenever you visit. We particularly liked the French-Khmer fusion cuisine fit for all butter maniacs.

Watermelon Fish Salad

Perfectly tuned trio quenched our thirst with succulent watermelon cubes, dried fish flakes and mint. This simple appetizer made a lasting impression with cooling fresh mint and salty fish. So much so that I made a promise to make it at home after the third bite. Chef perfectly balanced flavors with mint being a bonding element between salty dried fish and sweet watermelon.

Seafood Seduction

“Dear Lord, that’s delicious!” we kept saying to each other. Now we can say that seafood can seduce if it is prepared with such care that screams perfection. Usually, there is a star on a plate that becomes mine or Ian’s favorite, but not this time. We can’t even point the most prized piece on the plate! So what was on our plate?

Lobster, Salmon, Scallops and more

Let’s begin with grilled Mekong lobster served in a shell so no juices were lost. We loved the perfectly toothsome texture for which it is praised for and of course, that pleasingly subtle taste. Then there was grilled Norwegian salmon with the perfect crust and tender middle. Another tender delight was pan-roasted Alaskan scallops, seasoned with Kampot pepper. As it happens a tiny bit of Kampot pepper prolongs the scallop’s butter lusciousness.

European Inspired

Cambodian spiced calamari stuffing celebrated tender texture with straw mushrooms. The taste of citrusy kaffir lime and lemongrass went well with a slight smokiness from the grill and garlic sweetness. It was quite the opposite of the European-inspired steamed mussels in white wine. Not that it wasn’t tasty, they were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Basically, the same can be said for the marinated prawns with curry paste and coconut milk.

Sides

Our Seafood Seduction came to our table with two sides and three sauces of our choice. We were very pleased with the glazed young carrots and mashed potatoes. In addition to that, we absolutely loved the stir-fried morning glory that was resting under the mussels.

Then there were the sauces, Béarnaise sauce, pan juice gravy, and tamarin sauce. Of course, each sauce brought different characteristics from the seafood. Such well-executed pieces barely needed some help that is why we didn’t hold back with dipping the freshly baked bread into the sauces.

Final Thought

Park Hyatt Siem Reap Dinner @ The Dining Room can be described simply as delicious, entertaining and enchanting. We will come back, gladly. The only bigger downvote can be a lack of salt. A few dishes were lacking salt, but it is always better to add some than have it oversalted. However, the flavors were clean, fish and seafood cooked perfectly and service like probably whole nation – nice and pleasant. I must admit that the show with the dinner was a great surprise. It is great to see that the hotels are supporting local artists!

You surprise me again, dear @wnfdiary.
Watermelon - fish salad - it's really exotic! I love if hotels support local artists! I missed that in Turkey.

Thank you @olga.maslievich, I am glad you like it. When we were in Kuala Lumpur's Four seasons there were exclusively local artists' works presented all over the hotel. We are talking about 300+ works. Amazing! Thank you for stopping by
