Hi to all Steemians here in #SaturdayMemories and to Miss @olga.maslievich thank you so much for initiating this amazing contest. Allow me to show you my entry.
"They say one day you'll live this world behind, so live a life you will remember"
Indeed it's true!! Why waste your energy on things you cannot change. If bad things sucks your life-out, go on an adventure, travel and take a deep breath. Go and see beautiful places that can take your breath away and a place that can give you peace of mind. Trust me, you will appreciate life more.
I have travelled several places here in Cebu, Philippines. Places which I am very proud of for I was living here in a beautiful island of Cebu. So many beautiful places to explore. Some places are historical, some has great stories untold and some places was made out of love.
On one of my adventures, I wandered and came across this beautiful place called Sirao Garden a flower farm in a mountainous part of Busay Cebu City also called as "Little Amsterdam"
This was a great find for me because I have never seen a flower farm before. Seeing a flower farm on top of the hill is mesmerizing.
Little History
This 1.2 hectares was owned by an old couple who used to plant flowers and sell it during All Souls Day ( Day of remembering the dead ). Until one day a tourist went and visited the farm, took pictures posted it in Social Media and then later on became viral. When flock of tourists started to visit the farm the couple decided to plant more flowers of different kinds and slowly renovate the place to make it more appealing to the tourists.
The place was known because of it's instagrammable view, ideal for families, friends or couples who love to take pictures or even relax while looking at the arrays of flowers. Of course since I'm at the place I also took pictures and here are some of my favorite photos taken in Sirao Garden.
How To Get There
When you're going to visit Sirao Garden you might want to check the weather first because Sirao Garden is at it's best during sunny days. It's not a good idea to go there during rainy season because it's mountainous and the path is slippery. So here's how to get there.
➡️When you're at the city you can ride either in a jeepney, bus or a taxi going to JY Square Lahug Cebu City. I prefer to ride a jeepney because it's cheaper.
➡️When you arrive at JY Square, you have to ride a " habal-habal " or motorcycle going to Sirao Garden and you will have to pay $3.125 for the fare.
➡️When you arrive at Sirao Garden, prepare $2.08/person for the entrance fee.
➡️Lastly don't forget to charge your cellphones or cameras so you can take more pictures.
The Foods
No need to worry about the foods because outside Sirao Garden there are lots of locals who sells different foods. And their best seller is the Cooked Sweet Corn that only costs $.625/piece.
If you like, you can also visit nearby restaurants to dine-in like Chixboy Barbecue Restaurant few miles away from Sirao Garden and enjoy the cozy ambiance and their famous barbecues. Just ride a motorcyle heading to the restaurant and pay $.625 for the fare.
So there it is!! One of the most unforgettable and the most beautiful place I've been. I hope you can also visit my hometown, maybe someday. 🙂 Thank you all.
Always,
@saneunji
