I'm @goodybest from Nigeria and It's my pleasure to participate in this Contest and to share with you all how to make one of our local tasty dish the plantain Pottage , thanks for this space @habercitr.

Nigerian plantain Pottage

Permit me to tell you a bit about this our favorite local meal the plantain Pottage then I will tell you the method of preparation and the ingredients you needed in order to prepare this yummy meal.
plantain Pottage is one of the most delicious meal which happens to be widely known in West African Countries. It is a one pot dish, cooked with vegetable oil and form of leafy greens. I mean bitter leaf which is traditionally used and it is called in my language utazi

The food is so tasty! Its literally finger-licking good & so easy to make, there are several ways of preparing it, but this particular version is infuse with goat meat, smoke fish, & Crayfish you only need one pot and it's ready in no time. indeed this meal is for those who don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

INGREDIENTS:

  • unripe plantains
  • goat meat
  • smoke fish
  • crayfish
  • seasoning cubes
  • pepper
  • Salt & onions
  • vegetable oil
  • utazi leaves
  • periwinkles

PREPARATION:

  • Wash your meat, and seasoning it with salt, seasoning cubes, pepper and onion

  • cook it to soft and keep aside
  • cut and wash your periwinkles clean
  • wash your smoke fish and keep aside

  • grind your crayfish and keep aside
  • chop your utazi leaves and onions and keep aside

  • wash your plantain and peel it
  • cut the plantain in small sizes, and add water to cover it, then put the pot on fire as shown below:

  • cook it to soft
  • add all your ingredients to it; the meat, crayfish, smoke fish and periwinkles
  • add salt, seasoning cubes, and pepper to taste.
  • add vegetable oil
  • allow it to cook for some time approximately 10-15mins
  • add your utazi leaves and onions
  • reduce the fire and allow it cook for few minutes
    BOOM BOOM! Your tasty plantain Pottage is ready!!
