My local dish: Cassava Chips Pottage

Cassava chips is commonly eating by the Eastern part of Nigeria. In my house we make large quantity of cassava chips. It is soaked inside water. The water is changed every day. we eat it with coconut. We can also make some of it as pottage by adding some ingredients to it.

HOW TO MAKE CASSAVA CHIPS

1. Peel the cassava, cut it, wash it and cook on fire for 20 minutes

2. Seive the water, put in a bowl and chop it in a rectangular shape just like chips

3. Soak it in either a pot or an empty bowl till the next day

4. The next day, collect the quantity you would want for the pottage

INGREDIENTS FOR CASSAVA CHIPS POTTAGE

Cassava chips
Palmoil
Stock fish
Ugwu( pumpkim leaf)
Crayfish
Pomo(cow skin)
Pepper
Tomatoes
Onions
Salt
Maggi

Ingredients

PROCEDURES

Fry your onions, tomatoes and pepper. Add the crayfish, stockfish, pomo, maggi, and salt. Add the cassava chips, and lastly add the vegetables.
Your cassava chips pottage is ready.
