What is Bharat Vayna?
Bharat Rajar Deul is located 19 km from Keshabpur Upazila of Jessore District. About 1800 years ago in the age of Gupta, this huge Saptaka was built by Bharat Raja. Bharata's Deul still stands tall as a witness of time.
On one side is the sprawling village surrounded by greenery and on the other side is the river Bhadra. About 1800 years ago, a powerful king named Bharat ruled most of the Sundarbans, including the areas along the Bhadra River. To preserve his memory, he built Bhoroter Deul on the banks of river Bhadra.

History:
It is also known from history, that there was a mound with a height of 12.22 meters and a circumference of 266 meters in the early 20th century AD. In 1889, Kashinath Dixit, Superintendent in charge of the Archeology Department of the British Government, visited the Deul and remarked that it was more than 50 feet high and more than 900 feet in diameter.

The Department of Archeology of the Government of Bangladesh received the allocation of seven financial years from 1984 to 2001 and carried out the excavation work in this deul. Excavations reveal the full structure of the deul. But as a result of the excavation, it is known that the surface of this deul was damaged in the earthquake in 1897 The excavations revealed a total of 14 rooms from the base to the end of the entire palace. Four wing walls around 12 rooms out of it. This Buddhist stupa is made up of the remaining 82 rooms. At the top of the stupa are four rooms. There are eight other small rooms on both sides of this room Most of the rooms are filled with soil. It is believed that there was a magnificent temple on top of the Buddhist sept. There is a three-meter-wide road around the palace. Buddhist monks used to circumambulate around the temple and gain merit The houses in the four wing walls were probably where Buddhist monks lived or spent their leisure time.

The walls of each room range from three meters to 13 meters wide. Many bricks are 36 cm to 50 cm. The bricks look like they are made by hand. It is surprising that the bricks used in the construction are of such a large size that no other ancient site in this area has used them.

According to local sources, among the antiquities and objects found during the excavations are burnt clay tiger faces, human faces, fragments of hands of gods and goddesses. Various nature designed bricks, burnt clay toys. Archaeological objects are preserved in the Khulna Divisional Museum.

Start journey with my family:
As you all know my favorite vehicle is Nasimun(Traditional three wheeler). I hired Nasimun as usual and left for Bharat Vayana. It is only an hour's journey from my place. I did not understand when I reached to see the scenery of the village on the side of the road with all the family together with great joy.

As soon as I arrived I was just ecstatic. Until now, I only read the books that I see in front of my eyes today. Although it is spread over a very small area, it cannot be said to be beautiful. We bought a ticket of 5 taka per person and entered inside. One can easily get an idea of its importance by looking at its historical carvings on entering. Its natural environment is more beautiful than what I read in the book. Everyone in my family is into photography. There is a large banyan tree providing shade over a wide area. The entire Deul area is surrounded by iron grills, for which I enjoyed the archeological artefact without worrying about the kids. Children also enjoyed a lot.

It was time for lunch as everyone discussed the details and importance of this Deul. Everyone had lunch with the food brought from home.
After lunch, everyone sat in the shade of the banyan tree and once again got into the story about Raja Bharat.
Spent a very happy and memorable day with the whole family forgetting the mechanical noise of the city.
