Learning to quickly use elements to make tools is an advantage, as is being able to make traps to hunt.
You have to take into account that the islands are not always prosperous with abundant food or water and streams, sometimes they are lonely and with nothing, it is a matter of luck if you get an island better equipped with food to survive, friend.
