If you had been opportune to read the post about my childhood, you will realize most of my childhood was spent living with relatives. I left my parents as early as 5yrs of age and was taken to live with a relative.

However, the person I lived with was a government worker. He and his wife were good people. They really took care of me.

We always had trips outside where we lived frequently. However, my most memorable place was that of going to famous hotel in another state in Nigeria.

The name of the hotel is Presidential Hotel. The hotel was very famous back then, standing as the only 5 Star hotel in many state capitals back then. This particular hotel was in the south south region of my country then. Further contest tips will lead me to provide explanation as to why so.

All the people who accompanied you during this journey

The man and his wife had no children. So I and another little girl like me was staying with them and they treated us like their children.

So all four of us went on that memorable trip:- The man, the wife, I and the other girl staying with us.

These people were so lovely. They kept us in close view while still allowing us to explore.

Anecdotally unique facts you would love to outstanding.

The most memorable thing about that trip comes from an experience I had at the hotel. The hotel was the first ones that used an elevator since it was a 5 story building. I have never been in an elevator all my life, so I was consciously waiting to get in there.

The man decided to take us to the restaurant side which was in the 4th floor, so we took the elevator. It was truly a fascinating experience. When I entered the elevator and it started going up, my head started spinning, it was as if I was on a merry go round. Eventually, the elevator got to the floor stopped and opened. Others went out of the elevator, but I only moved and stood in the middle of the elevator door.

If not for the man's wife that dragged me out when she looked back and saw the elevator closing in on me, I would have been pinned by the door.

It was an unforgettable experience even till today. I usually laugh out loud once that flashes in my memory.

Any other details or aspects you want to share with us in the publication. What happened in the travel?

Apart from the incident, the place was a sight to behold. The elevator, the furnitures and fitting were to standard. The wonderful dining room was something I had never seen till then.

There were so many visitors who came with their children, most of them were westerners on a holiday trip to Nigeria. I even played with some of their children.

The big swimming pool was massive and amazing as at then. I only knew about the stream in my hometown where we swim and play with each other in my village.

We ate wonderful and tasty Ice creams too. The whole trip was just awesome.

Conclusion

You can see why I said that this trip was a very memorable one to me. I really enjoyed every bit of the trip. Such experience is unforgettable.

I will like @sahmie @bossj23 @irawandedy @mesola and @karianaporras to take part. here

Wow, that sounds like quite an adventure. I can imagine how exciting and nerve-wracking it must have been to ride in an elevator for the first time. It's funny how our bodies can react in unexpected ways, like feeling a bit dizzy or disoriented when the elevator starts moving. But it's great that everything turned out alright, thanks to the quick thinking of the man's wife. It's moments like these that stay with us forever and can make us laugh out loud when we remember them. Thanks for sharing this unforgettable experience with me and I already feel invited.

Your childhood memories of the Presidential Hotel trip are truly special. It's heartening to hear how the couple who cared for you treated you like their own creating a family like bond. The elevator mishap adds a touch of humor to the adventure making it an unforgettable story. The vivid descriptions of the hotel its dining room the big swimming pool and the encounters with visitors and their children paint a delightful picture of the entire experience.Best wishes in the contest..

First of all I was very sad to visit your post that your parents leave you when you were just at the age of 5 years and I think at this age a children can't be mature and responsible but it was your good fortune and you were lucky that two people that were your relatives take care of you just like parents and your favourite place to visit was presidential hotel this is also interesting to know.

I wish that you may visit many more places and you enjoy many more trips I wish you success
