Tell us about your trip to a Museum or Zoo. What's the place's name?

OK, traveling friends, I will talk about the Stunami Museum in Banda Aceh City, which is a historical stick that immortalizes how powerful the Tsunami wave was which devastated most of Aceh, killing hundreds of thousands of people and I myself happen to be an eyewitness to it. the event.

One of the mini Monuments of the Aceh Tsunami Building

This museum was built on December 26, 2009 by the Aceh government as a Symbolic center honoring victims & survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake & tsunami disaster that killed approximately 277,000 people and was one of the most devastating tsunamis in history, which was designed by the Governor of West Java. currently Ridwan Kamil who at that time still worked as an architect.

There are approximately 6,038 collections at the Aceh Tsunami Museum which consists of a collection of historical, physiological, visual arts, video, technology, numismatic objects and like other tourist destinations, this place also sells various souvenirs and has a parking area, prayer room, toilets, Geology Room, Library, Food vendors

additional information

Location (including transportation access points);

Aceh Tsunami Museum is located on Jl. Sultan Iskandar Muda, Sukaramai, District. Baiturrahman, Banda Aceh City, Aceh 23116.

If from where I live, Matang Munyeu, Syamtalira Aron, we will take up to 6 hours by car, while trains and airplanes are not yet available and sea routes are not available, you can only use land routes and only use vehicles, unless you are outside Aceh and can take an airplane from Airports in your area and will arrive at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport and from there you can go to the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh.

And if we are already at the Banda Aceh City Icon, namely the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh, then by driving we only take 3 minutes, while walking takes 9 minutes.

How much did you spend for a ticket entry to the museum/zoo? Express the price in dollars and Steems.

Lodging

My husband and I were in one of the inns in Banda Aceh, SG Homestay
https://what3words.com/pengengat.gasing.integration

An advantage when you have family in Banda Aceh who will help you in many things like youdging, but you don't need to worry because there will be many nearby lodgings from the Aceh tsunami museum area, such as SG Homestay which only takes 3 minutes to arrive at the Aceh tsunami museum using a vehicle.

At that time I rented a room with facilities of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 washing place, kitchen, television, AC, and there was also a living room with rental per day Rp. 350,000/100 steem. You can stay with your family and visit the Aceh Tsunami Museum together.

Souvenir shop

My son and I are at the gift shop in the building

You can get some Acehnese specialties and also various types of souvenirs that are here at cheaper and affordable prices than outside the Museum.

Also called in-ship rescue bridge

The Aceh Tsunami Museum is very unique where the beginning of its construction was designed by an architect lecturer from ITB and the shape of the building is also very unique, when viewed from above it is like a tsunami wave and if from below it is like a ship that has a long bridge in the middle of the building.

The Aceh Tsunami Museum was designed with the theme Rumoh Aceh as Escape Hill and the architectural style of the walls was also adopted from the saman dance which became a symbol of the discipline, strength, and belief of Muslims in Aceh.

Road with thunderous sound, its so amazing

The Aceh Museum building is also equipped with several rooms that use minimal lighting and the sound effect of roaring water which intends to remind us of this very sad event.

In addition, there are several rooms and walls that contain photos after the tsunami disaster, complete with descriptions of the place and time written on each photo.

Photos on display to show all activities and what remained after the tsunami tragedy

In addition there is one side where there is shown an example of a small but very beautiful Acehnese house and I like the shape of this house.

Mini Aceh house

After passing through this place, we will be greeted with some of the remains of the Aceh tsunami witnesses who are still left behind.

One of the relics of the witness of the tsunami tragedy

And then we will enter the room where the video and the tragedy of the tsunami which was recorded by the locals' amateur camera and enshrined here as well as some of the activities carried out after the tsunami hit.

Documentary video room when the tsunami hit

And the last one is one on the wall there is a frame that contains an advice for everyone, an advice that reminds us of a life journey and learns from what has happened.

IMG_20230810_173152.jpg

A tip written on the wall when leavingting the building

This is not just a museum but a historical trail where the beginning of a revolution was built and reorganized, a reminder that we should always be grateful, and an order that will be remembered throughout history.

I consider that all tourist attractions have their own charm and value, and I am very grateful to be able to visit here and remember the tsunami incident that I experienced here when I was in elementary school. I was amazed by the building but there are some places that we are not allowed to enter even I can't go up to the top floor and see further what is in the building of this tsunami museum, and I hope to have the opportunity to visit again and see all sides of this building.
