Please describe what the theme/purpose of your visit was.

At the start of the winter holidays, the only place that occupied my thoughts was Tabarka. I had had the chance to visit it the previous year, and this experience had left an indelible mark on my memory. The idea of revisiting this charming coastal town had gradually transformed into a sort of annual ritual to which I had attached myself with particular affection.

The theme of my visit was clear in my mind: to rediscover the unique tranquility and beauty of Tabarka, its tranquil beaches bordered by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, its mountains in the background and the relaxed atmosphere that characterizes this region. I was looking to relive the magical moments I had experienced during my first visit, to rediscover the picturesque charm of the old town, its winding streets, its colorful markets and its friendly people.

Last week, as I embarked on this journey, my expectations were high. I looked forward to immersing myself once again in the enchanting ambiance of Tabarka, tasting its local culinary delights, marveling at the diversity of its flora while diving into its forests, and above all, feeling again this special connection with a place that had managed to capture my heart.

The visit was intended to recharge my batteries, to escape from the daily tumult, and to allow me to reconnect with the nature and culture of this region. Finding Tabarka was more than just a winter getaway; it was a return to a place where time seemed to slow down, where every corner told a story, and where I could just be myself, away from the stresses of everyday life.

Was it in cold weather or on a summer trip?

It was in the middle of the winter holidays that I once again embarked on the adventure of finding Tabarka. The previous year, I had discovered this Mediterranean pearl in similar weather, and the idea of reliving this experience during the winter season had a special flavor. The fresh air and cold weather were not obstacles, but rather elements that added a unique dimension to this getaway.

The biting cold did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm. On the contrary, it brought a new atmosphere to Tabarka, transforming its familiar landscapes into a picturesque winter canvas. The beaches, once bustling with bursts of summer laughter, took on a solemn appearance, but just as captivating. The mountains in the background seemed to be covered in a distant blanket of snow, creating a stark contrast to the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.

This year, the adventure in Tabarka took on a new dimension since I went there with my family. Accompanied by my wife and our two children, the excitement and anticipation was palpable from the start of our trip. Revisiting this special place in the company of my loved ones promised an experience even richer in memories and sharing.

As soon as we arrived, the magic of Tabarka worked on each of us. The amazed eyes of my children at the beauty of the winter landscapes, the laughter that echoed in the alleys of the old town, and the happiness shared during local culinary discoveries helped to create a warm and complicit atmosphere.

The days were filled with family activities, from walks on deserted beaches to exploring historic sites. Each member of the family found happiness in these moments of relaxation, whether by building sandcastles with the children or losing themselves in the stories that the ancient streets seemed to whisper.

On this winter family getaway to Tabarka, we decided to explore more of the area and check out some of its iconic natural attractions. Ain Darahem and Bni Mtir Falls were at the top of our list, promising moments of discovery and wonder.

Ain Darahem, a picturesque oasis nestled in the heart of the mountains, was our first stop. The road to get there was already an adventure in itself, winding through spectacular mountain landscapes. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the calming sight of a natural spring surrounded by lush greenery. The clear, crystal-clear water gushed from the earth, creating a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. The children happily had fun observing the fish in the natural pools, while my wife and I took the time to soak up the serenity of the place.

Next, our adventure took us to the famous Bni Mtir Falls. The waterfalls, fed by mountain waters, cascaded down the rocks with majestic power. The roar of the descending water created a natural symphony, adding a sensory dimension to our experience. The surroundings were wildly beautiful, with lush vegetation and winding paths allowing you to admire the falls from different angles.

Capturing these magical moments, I took photos to immortalize our visit. During our stay in Tabarka, sightseeing was an essential part of our experience. Besides Ain Darahem and the Bni Mtir Falls, we explored the old town with its picturesque streets and buildings steeped in history. Every corner of the old town seemed to tell an ancient story, and wandering its narrow streets was like diving into a living book.

Local culture also took center stage in our days. We had the chance to attend local artistic events, highlighting the richness of traditional crafts and regional music. Meeting the locals added an authentic touch to our experience, allowing us to better understand their way of life, their traditions and their pride in their heritage.

As for the culinary experiences, they were truly memorable. Local restaurants were full of authentic Mediterranean flavors, highlighting dishes based on fresh fish, olive oil and local spices. We feasted on regional specialties, discovering unique taste combinations that awakened our taste buds. Meals shared with family in these picturesque establishments were moments of joy and sharing, strengthening our connection with the culinary culture of Tabarka.

Recalling all these experiences, I cannot help but feel a deep gratitude for the moments experienced during this stay. The sightseeing provided us with breathtaking landscapes, the local culture enriched our understanding of the place, and the culinary delights left a lasting taste imprint. Each of these facets contributed to making our trip to Tabarka a complete adventure, rich in discoveries and memories that will remain engraved in our hearts.

Thank goodness our trip to Tabarka was safe and without any problems. Every step of our journey, from the initial preparations to our return home, was marked by a peace of mind that greatly contributed to making this experience even more enjoyable.

From the start, the journeys to our tourist destinations went smoothly. The roads were well maintained, the signs were clear, and driving was safe. The warm welcome from the people of Tabarka added an extra layer of comfort, making every interaction a positive experience.

When it comes to safety, the city itself has preserved its welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The tourist spots were well patrolled, and the local recommendations were invaluable in maximizing our safety while exploring the area. The serenity that reigned on the beaches, in the old town and even in the heart of nature during our excursions reinforced our feeling of well-being.

Regarding our accommodation, security measures were strictly adhered to, allowing us to relax with complete confidence. Pandemic-related health precautions, including mask wearing and regular disinfection, were applied responsibly, creating an environment conducive to peace of mind.

This total absence of problems gave us the opportunity to concentrate fully on the positive aspects of our stay. We were able to fully enjoy the natural beauties, immerse ourselves in the local culture and savor the culinary delights without the slightest worry. In retrospect, this constant security added a dimension of well-being to our experience, transforming our escapade into an enchanted parenthesis without the slightest cloud on the horizon.
