SEC-S18W3 | Traveling and enjoying in couple | My Best Friend Edition

Hello Travelling Community,

My husband and I have been friends long before we got married to each other. As friends, we used to be total partners-in-crime, always getting ourselves into adventures. The best part about marrying your best friend is that the fun never stops! While he is the sweetest, most caring and fun person to be around, he is just NOT made for adventures xD But gotta give credit where it's due, even though just talking about extreme stuff makes him nauseous, he ALWAYS tags along on my adventures making sure I don't miss anything.

Man, I could go on all day about our adventures but let me tell you about our most recent tour that was an absolute blast! We started by road tripping it from our place in Karachi all the way to Lahore. Along the way, we stopped at lots of pit stops for some classic desi food- I'm talking kachoris, nihari, tikkas, you name it. The weather was pleasant we couldn't stop reminiscing the views. The lush, green scenery left both of us surreal.

Once we hit Lahore, we attended the Punjabi wedding of one of our best friends. Let me tell you, those Punjabis know how to party! Punjabis sure know how to be hospitable, and we were treated like actual chief guests, because, of course, we were Dulhan's best friends who had travelled 1000 miles just to attend her wedding heheh.

We then drove through the mountains to Murree, Malam Jabba and few other places. One activity that really stands out as a trip highlight was zip lining at Malam Jabba Adventure Park. They have what's considered one of the longest zip lines in Pakistan, lasting for around 40 seconds of absolute heart-pounding thrill. When we first saw the huge platform, my husband looked confused and worried for sure. But I convinced him to give it a try. The organizers made us sign liability waivers, which really drove home that this was no joke - shit was about to get real! Stepping off that platform was one of the scariest yet most exhilarating things ever. Feeling the wind rush by as we flew high above the ground at top speed was unbelievable. We screamed and cheered of absolute surprise and thrill the whole way, completely addicted to the adrenaline. Even though my husband was nervous, I'm so proud that he pushed past his fears to live in the moment.
Without a doubt, those 40 seconds zipping flying high above the ground were some of the best of our trip. We still talk about that rush and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. It's something we'll remember forever.

Overall, our getaway to North was the perfect recharge we both needed after a long busy period. From the tasty dhaba food, celebrations with dear friends, mountain scenery, hikes and of course the thrilling zip lining - it was a memorable trip filled with fun experiences and quality time together. Leaving North is always bittersweet, but the feelings of relaxation, happiness and excitement made all the memories worth holding close. I'm already dreaming of when we can return to those breathtaking hills of our beautiful North.
