The best among them all is Argungu Fishing Festival which is considered as one of the most famous and exciting traditional fishing festivals held here in Nigeria and African as a whole.
The Argungu fishing festival also known as (Fashin Ruwa) is a celebration of life. It is a tool of conserving natural resources, maintaining and promoting traditional life, it is a Bare-hand fishing competition among thousands of fishermen, equipped with only a hand net and large gourd the individual who caught the biggest fish will be awarded with different huge prizes, just like In the 2020 Argungu Fishing Festival, the fisherman who caught the biggest fish weighing about 78 kilograms was awarded N10 million, two new cars and two Hajj seats, second position, and third positions were also awarded handsomely.
This particular festival is celebrated to mark the beginning of the fishing season in Argungu, a river-side town in Kebbi State, Nigeria. It is celebrated between February and March every year.

Do you enjoy this festival or not? Tell us the reason for your answer.

Despite the fact that I have never for once attended this fishing festival before, I still enjoy listening to people share their different opinions and perspectives concerning this festival, also the reason I enjoy this festival is because the festival preserves tradition and promotes conservation and ensuring the economic viability of the community's fishery.

Have you ever witnessed this festival? If yes tell us about any memory related to it. If no. Do you have any plans of witnessing it in the future.

Just like I said above I have never attended or witness this festival before but I know much about this particular festival because I was taught about it right from primary and secondary school.

Of course yes, I have plans of attending and witnessing this festival in future to come because I have been hearing about it for a long time now that it is the best fishing festival in Nigeria also in African as a whole so witnessing it will be so much interesting and fun.

Historical story of this festival

Argungu fishing festival was originated and formed in August 1934, when the Sultan of Sokoto, Hassan Dan Mu'azu, made an historic visit to Argungu, In appreciation of his visit, the first by a sultan of Sokoto, a grand fishing festival was organized and established and since then it has become a yearly event and celebration held between February and March every year to mark the end of farming season.

I have come to the end Point of this amazing contest, Let's me start by appreciating the leadership of this community for the privilege given to participate in this amazing contest, also more appreciation goes to the organizer of this contest @bonaventure24 for this astounding contest.
