Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to take part in a contest floated by the travellingsteem community and I hope you all will get time to read and know about the place i would mention here and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

Tell us about your next holiday plan so it helps travelers to decide where to go for their next destination as idea. Even if you have no immediate plan, you can still share your favorite destination.

I love travelling and I always try to spend my holidays in the tourist destinations abundant in number here in Kashmir, India. It’s one of my main resolutions to escape the commotion of the everyday life and embrace the peace and serenity of such tourist places. I also like going to such places to have a very close relationship with the nature and to admire the nature with my full capacity. It helps me to know the nature very closely and also the various effects of climate change and the ways to minimise them. Here in Kashmir, we have a lot of places where we can go on our holidays to spend some time in peace and tranquillity. The Climate here being moderate, makes these places even more suitable for spending some time there. We have a tourist place in every corner and in every side. We always get confused where to go and where not to. Here I would like to mention a place called Pahalgam which is located in the South of the Kashmir valley in between the humongous mountains which are covered by snow all round the year. It is a vast valley with lush green planes everywhere, and adding to its beauty is the river Lidder which bifurcates the valley into two beautiful parts.Pahalgam also known as the village of shepherds is located in the South of the Srinagar city at about a distance of 115 km. The long ride towards the place is always a treat to enjoy because of its landscape. It’s one of my favourite places and in fact, it’s the most beautiful tourist place here in our valley. It is a perfect place of escape all round the year because it reflects its beauty in every season.

Please mention the duration one should stay there to fully explore the destination and describe your mode of transportation, plus the places to stay at your favorite destination.

Exploring Pahalgam in just one or two days is impossible because of the vastness of the place and also it’s every corner is beautiful and worthwhile to spend some time in. As it has beautiful outskirts and one at least needs minimum 3 to 4 days to fully explore the place. Believe me everything in pehelgam imparts mesmerising beauty, be it the mountains, the plains, the river, the Meadows or the pine trees. The Kashmir has been called as the heaven on earth and in my opinion Pehelgam must be treated as its trademark. PAHALGAM is located at one hour distance from the airport which is located in the core of the valley in the Srinagar city. It is at a distance of about one hour from Anantnag railway station which falls the first while heading from India towards the valley.

The hotel industry is well flourished at the place and booking hotel accommodation is quite easy. One. can book a hotel either online or off-line. The different hotels in pehelgam have made a goodwill against their name over a period of time and they never compromise with their services and hardly could we get a person complaining about the hotels and the other related businesses associated with the place.

Mention the key spots you intend to visit at this destination or suggest them to our readers. It would be a nice idea if you could guide the travelers on how much would it cost to live there in different capacities.

Some of the key places in Pahalgam are the ARU Valley which is a favourite tourist place for the foreigners and almost hundred percent of the foreigners who travel to our Valley visit this place. It’s lush green meadows surrounded by the mountains is a treat to watch and also the way leading to this place is quite fascinating.
Another spot is the Betaab Valley, which is situated at a distance of 5 to 10 km from the main PAHALGAM and it is also one of the top tourist attractions. The laminar flow of one of the tributaries of the lidder river which passes through the valley imparts an incredible view to the place. Hardly could we see anyone who doesn’t dabble his feet in the stream and also capture photographs in the midst of the stream because of its crystal clear water and also for its smooth laminar flow.

One more place is Chandanwari which is located in the South of the PAHALGAM Valley. It’s a place where you could hardly get any food item because of it being only accessible either on foot or a horse ride. It’s a different Place all together because here we don’t have any mountains surrounding the place, but we will see all around small hills covered with beautiful pine trees and amidst those hills is a lush green vast meadow. One could feel the softness of the grass as if one walks over a carpet.
Now Talking about how much it would cost to stay in Pehalgam,I reckon it would be around $200 per day, including the travel,meals and accommodation if one stays at a good ambient hotel. As such, I can’t provide here an exact figure because whenever I travel to the place, I always stay in one of my friend's hotel called Lal Kothi where I stay for free.

conclusion

Our Kashmir is called as the heaven on earth and a lot of tourists all across the world can be seen over here in any time of the year. It’s also titled as the Switzerland of Asia but I would like to say Switzerland is the Kashmir of Europe. One must at least visit this place once in a lifetime so as to witness the marvels of nature. Being here would always make one to realise how nature at its best could be like.
