SEC-S16W1 | My Memorable Trip In Childhood | A Dream Come True

Being a child is literally one of the best phases in life. No worries, less thinking, so much innocence... just live and have fun with the ones close to you which most of the time are family members. My parents worked so hard to make my life as stress free and jovial as possible and that helped my life in the future. One of the things they did on many occasions was taking us on trips. Yes, I said trips which means that they did that often but my best trip was our first one which was organized by my dad.

Mum told us beforehand that dad is planning on taking all of us out and I was so excited thinking we were going to a restaurant until my dad gave us the news - We will watch the 2016/17 UCL final LIVE in Cardiff. I couldn't believe my eyes, my face was elated along with my brother's face as we are stern supporters of Real Madrid C.F mostly because my dad introduced it to us and we loved Cristiano Ronaldo and in that stadium, we'd get to witness Ronaldo live and spend time with my dad. It was a special occasion. Dad, Mum, Desire(my little sister), Joel(my brother) and I were the people participating in the trip.

We arranged our Visas and headed straight to Wales and coincidentally Gareth Bale was playing that particular final in his home soil. We heard the native tongue of the people and to be honest we found it hard to understand what they were saying -despite the fact that they were speaking English- because of their accents. We lodged at the Parkgate Hotel which screamed elegance and royalty the moment we stepped into its historic setting and their rooms had some classic medieval touch to it. We lodged there 2 days before the final and no two rooms were exactly the same. Days and nights went by and it became the night of the final. What a night it was. I came to witness Ronaldo and he performed by dropping 2 goals and a flawless performance which helped Real Madrid lift their 11th UCL title.

We later stayed for sometime at my aunt's place as lodging in the hotel was actually quite expensive and was a luxury my dad wanted us to have before the final. Aunt Linda was so accommodating and happy to see us. She lives close to one of the Castles in Wales. She gave us plenty to eat and she had lots of gists for my mum which as usual would be later passed on to me.

Sadly as they say "no good thing lasts forever" and in this case, it was so true. We had to leave Cardiff to Eket, Akwaibom where we stay. The trip all in all was a very memorable one and something I can never forget. I thank God Almighty each day for keeping my dad alive to spoil us like he did. It was like something from a story... exhilarating.
