Heritage and Harmony: A Day at Itakhola Mura

The day in Cumilla was peaceful and tranquil, with a rich historical and charming atmosphere. With the divine favor, all members of my family, including myself, were in a state of high morale. As is customary, my visit to Cumilla always involves exploring, and this occasion was no exception. Situated in the central part of Kotbari, my grandmother's house functioned as the focal point of our escapades.

With my cousins by my side, we embarked on a nearby escapade, setting our sights on the ItaKhola Mura Temple & Bihar. The decision was spontaneous, driven by the proximity of this historical gem. Swiftly, we readied ourselves, eager to immerse in the allure of Itakhola Mura.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the modest entry fee of 30 takas, a small price to pay for the treasures that awaited us. The temple grounds buzzed with the energy of fellow tourists, all drawn to the mystique of this ancient site. The ambiance was nothing short of captivating, prompting us to capture every moment through the lens of our cameras.

The more we walked around, the more we started to understand the history of Itakhola Mura. Here we were, in the hushed echoes of time, gazing at the vestiges of a Buddhist shrine that was constructed in the seventh century. The precise process of excavating unveiled the intricate features of the architectural designs, in a way, letting the onlooker have a glance at a lost era.

With 18 tolas of gold and ancient coins lying around, the past was telling its story in bits and pieces. The statue of Buddha sitting gracefully in the middle of the temple grounds brought to mind the traditions that have been established within these walls.

My cousins and I were in our element, having the time of our lives and discovering every corner of this historic gem. Finally, as the sun set, we treated ourselves to some well-earned snacks and drinks, sipping tea as we made our way back.
