Component Identification Homework

Thank you to the Electronic Eagles Team for organizing this workshop on electronics and i am happy to be part of the Electronics Academy.

Lesson for Week 1.

In the introductry lesson for week 1 that covered basic components and symbolic representations of these components like the ground and its symbol, the positive, connected wires and two types of not connected wires in a circuit.

Workshop 2:

Briefly defining the following....

Alternating Voltage
Alternating Voltage is the most common form of electrical power that continously reverse its direction, constantly oscillating between positive and negative. The change can happen 50 to 60 times every second and that is why it is called alternating voltage.

Direct Voltage
Unlike the alternating voltage, the direct voltage has a current that flows in only one direction hence the name. This type of power has a positive and negative cable and you can store it in a battery

Resistance
resistance is the rate at which the flow of electric current is obstructed by a resistor or a load on the circuit, it is typically represented with letter R and is mesured in ohms

Potentiometer
A Potentiometer is a three terminal variable resistor used to control intensity by varying the resistance across its terminals. They are mostly used as volume control.

Rectifier diode
The diode is a semiconductor device that will only allow electric current to flow in one direction and will stop it from flowing the other direction.

Diode bridge
A diode bridge is a team of four diodes responsible for full wave rectification that converts AC Voltage to DC Voltage

Capacitor
A capacitor is a device that stores electrical energy and can quickly supply the energy when needed. The stored charge in a capacitor is mesured in farad

Transistor
Transistors are semiconductor devices that function either as a switch, an amplifier, a regulator or a signal controller in a circuit. They tipically have three connectors: a base, emiter and the collector.

Transformer
Transformers are induction based devices that transfer power from one coil to another through electromagnetic induction so that the power flowing in one coil induces a higher or lower flow in the other coil.

Fuse
A fuse is a mechanical protective conponent that breaks or melt to protect circuit from excessive current.

Lithium battery
This is a type of rechargeable battery used in portable devices and renewable energy systems.

Thank you so much dear @nahela, I really appreciate your support

Greetings @udyliciouz
I hope that you will be enjoying your day. Your post about basic electronics is so good. First yout drawing in worksheet 1 is so excellent, I like it so much. Further you have discussed the types of different components used in the circuit very beautifuly. At the end your identification is also valuable. Nice content, looking forward to your success.
