SEC-S18W1 I Survive by Pure Anxiety

in Comunidad Latina28 days ago (edited)

Welcome to my blog friends! It is a new season and the week 1 of my outing this period. For the week, anxiety is already before us to make our entries on how we feel about it, its causes, control measures, and advice to others in the same situation.

However, anxiety is one thing that we face daily. It is mostly observed in our interactions and activities of the day. Our expectations, plans, place of work, discussions with others, disagreements, etc are some paths capable of giving us anxiety. Let's get to the day's business.

Describe what situations can generate anxiety for you.

Because we are human, we are bound to face anxiety. It does not matter our gender or status in life. Both the poor and rich share this pot of temporary distress called anxiety. it is never envisaged most times because they are the aftermath of our activities during the day or weeks after.

In our place of work, issues about the target delivery of key performance index (KPIs) could be a big source of anxiety to us especially when the month is winding up. This case is the same when one isn't meeting with expected target.

This work anxiety increases when review meetings are held. In my place of work, monthly central review meetings are held far away in Lagos and the bill to initiate this trip is individual based. You spend monies on transport fares and lodging without per diem, and the presentation meeting where you are expected to defend your poor performance is thrown before you in a slide.

Another scenario is where we have hazards or armed robbery situations within the work area or neighborhood. These are situations that cause us unnecessary anxiety because of the tense activities that surround it. It leaves us in a hopeless situation at that moment of occurrence.

We have anxieties from emotional traumas from friendships we make and as well from colleagues. When our activities with them no longer go in a way that brings us peace, it creates anxiety instead. This may be when we engage in discussions that end up in disagreements, or relationships go wrong.

How do you deal with this feeling?

Work-related anxiety is one that we only have to devise ways of improving our performance to reduce or avoid it. This is curing the menace from the source. Being proactive and applying all strategies to improve our KPIs, is one to help reduce work-related anxiety.

The other is all about working away from tense gatherings. We don't need to continue idling in spaces that give us this negative feeling. Walking out or away helps a great deal in taming anxiety situations.

We can also find ourselves indulging in other activities that would distract us from those situations. Going online and indulging in some gameplay would be of great effect. Social media platforms can also be a place to store our moods from various reels and entertaining video clips.

Some tips to avoid suffering from anxiety.

Staying away from activities that may likely spring up such feelings. Knowing when to call it a day or end an ongoing discussion is the ideal strategy to maintain one's sanity.

Spending time with loved ones to help reduce overthinking. Overthinking is one act that keeps knocking uninvited and the best way to douse this is to be preoccupied with loved ones and spending memorable moments with them.

Preoccupying ourselves with other activities like visiting gaming sites, social media platforms, or other weekend entertainment events are best way to avoid anxiety effects.

Lastly, stay away from persons that you've always perceived as bad company. They emit negative vibes to you more times than the positive sides. Being intentional about them and how you relate with them, helps avoid some of this anxiety.

Thank you!

KPI at work place can be worrisome, When I was working with one of the biggest shopping mall in PH, I was unease until the KPI was done. Your second scenario can be disturbing too. It's always a treble experience that can leave a big shock to anyone.

Good to see that you can relate from self-experience. Those scenarios are traumatic in their own ways. Thanks for coming around.

Hello @xcool, you spelt out in details every thing about anxiety. It is never easy to avoid it especially when we have a lot of work load. Sometimes trying to balance out work life and our relationship spurs up anxiety too. Nice write-up from your sir.
