Some days are simply so uncertain. You wake up clueless about what would happen, where you would go, who you would meet or what you would find. But despite this, it ends so beautifully. Even better than you would imagine.

Algunos días son simplemente tan inciertos. Te despiertas sin saber qué pasará, adónde irás, a quién conocerás o qué encontrarás. Pero a pesar de ello, todo acaba de maravilla. Incluso mejor de lo que imaginas.

When dawn was upon us, I got down on my knees to pray. Thanking the creator for life, for peace and for good health. Most people underestimate these things so much and they don't even realise how unpredictable life can be until life begins to happen.
My phone was already buzzing with notifications. It was time to listen to the ra-di-o...104.5 FM Uyo. I never imagined that a time would come in my life when I would enjoy staying informed about recent occurrences. I had watched my parents do this as a child. Asked them why and they replied with the proverb "Adod usen ekoŋ isi imummo iyon" (A war that is fixed cannot meet even the slowest moving animal) Now, I'm slowly becoming my parents.

Cuando amaneció, me puse de rodillas a rezar. Agradeciendo al creador por la vida, por la paz y por la buena salud. La mayoría de las personas subestiman tanto estas cosas y ni siquiera se dan cuenta de lo impredecible que puede ser la vida hasta que ésta empieza a suceder.
Mi teléfono ya zumbaba con notificaciones. Era hora de escuchar el ra-di-o... 104.5 FM Uyo. Nunca imaginé que llegaría un momento en mi vida en el que disfrutaría manteniéndome informada de los últimos acontecimientos. De niño había visto a mis padres hacerlo. Les pregunté por qué y me respondieron con el proverbio "Adod usen ekoŋ isi imummo iyon" (Una guerra que está fijada no puede encontrarse ni con el animal más lento en movimiento) Ahora, me estoy convirtiendo poco a poco en mis padres.
It was time to step out to do something productive. Times are so hard that one can't try staying indoors. It's either you are maltreated by hunger or melted by heat. It's one or the other. So I stepped out to look for my daily bread. The person I had an appointment with asked me to wait a bit while they attended to something inside. I brought out my phone to take some selfies for today's diary game.
Era hora de salir y hacer algo productivo. Los tiempos son tan duros que no puedes intentar quedarte en casa. O te mueres de hambre o te derrites de calor. Es una cosa o la otra. Así que salí a por el pan de cada día. La persona con la que tenía una cita me pidió que esperara un poco mientras atendían algo dentro. Saqué el móvil para hacerme unos selfies para el juego diario de hoy.
Back home, I thought of what to do to keep myself busy. An idle man, they say, is the devil's workshop. Devil dey use am to learn work. With my phone, I can never lack what to do. Scouring through YouTube, I found this video that talks about how to raise mentally resilient children.

I found it helpful because it discussed issues like divorce, child personal development, etc. I even learned that spending at least 20 minutes with your child daily can help sustain the parent-child bond.
If you ask me, I'd say that YouTube is the world's best school. If you are not learning from it, then you are earning from it.
De vuelta a casa, pensé en qué hacer para mantenerme ocupado. Dicen que un hombre ocioso es el taller del diablo. El diablo los utiliza para aprender a trabajar. Con mi teléfono, nunca me falta qué hacer. Buscando en YouTube, encontré este vídeo que habla de cómo criar niños mentalmente resistentes.

Me resultó útil porque trataba temas como el divorcio, el desarrollo personal del niño, etc. Incluso aprendí que pasar al menos 20 minutos diarios con tu hijo puede ayudar a mantener el vínculo padre-hijo.
En mi opinión, YouTube es la mejor escuela del mundo. Si no estás aprendiendo de él, entonces estás ganando con él.
