Y si no nos lleva a ningún lado? [ESP/ENG]

Hoy en la mañana estaba escuchando “Chasing Pavements” de Adele y me hizo pensar ¿debemos seguir nuestros sueños aún si no nos lleva a ningún lado?

Obvio sé que la canción trata de una persona que está enamorada de otra y quiere decirle que le ama, pero no sabe si hacerlo o no. Pero ¿no es eso exactamente lo que hacemos cada vez que tenemos una nueva idea, un nuevo sueño, una nueva meta? ¿No somos todos personas que nos arriesgamos a hacer algo sin saber cuál será el resultado de las cosas?

Yo creo que sí, que cada vez que deseamos hacer algo en este mundo existe la probabilidad de que lo que hagamos no nos lleve a nada y creo que eso es lo que detiene muchos. Ese miedo de quedar en el mismo lugar sin nada.

Pero, ¿en verdad no nos llevan a nada? ¿No existe ningún cambio? Y esto es lo que muchos no ven, aún si llegas a fallar, aún si terminas con menos de lo que empezaste, el haber intentado hacer algo te cambia. Cambias porque cada nueva experiencia te enseña algo nuevo o te afirma algo que ya creías saber.

Entonces no creo que alguien pueda decir que no obtuvo nada o que su intento no le llevo a ningún lado. Obvio no le dio el resultado que esperaba, pero para bien o para mal esa experiencia lo llega a cambiar. Algunos seguirán intentándolo hasta lograr lo que desean, otros se darán cuenta de que no querían eso y buscarán otra cosa, y otros simplemente se rendirán y dirán que no vale la pena.

This morning I was listening to Adele's “Chasing Pavements” and it made me think, should we follow our dreams even if it doesn't get us anywhere?

Obviously I know that the song is about a person who is in love with another and wants to tell them that they loves them, but they doesn't know whether to do it or not. But isn't that exactly what we do every time we have a new idea, a new dream, a new goal? Aren't we all people who risk doing something without knowing what the outcome will be?

I think that every time we want to do something in this world there is a chance that what we do will not get us anywhere and I think that is what stops many people. That fear of being in the same place with nothing.

But, does it really lead us nowhere? Is there no change? And this is what many don't see, even if you fail, even if you end up with less than what you started with, having tried to do something changes you. You change because each new experience teaches you something new or affirms something you already thought you knew.

So I don't think anyone can say that they didn't get anything or that their attempt didn't get them anywhere. Obviously, it didn’t give them the result they wanted, but for better or worse, that experience changed them. Some will keep trying until they get what they want, some will realize they didn't want that and look for something else, and some will just give up and say it's not worth it.
