Controlling your emotions is what makes you human. At time in life people are being push to the world because of certain circumstances we encountered it might be within us or government policies.
As u earlier said, that is easy to find joy from a child than an adult which I tend to agree with you. Sometime we adult can be so annoying. However, it all depends on what we want in life.
