The Diary Game (20-07-2026): Monday Family Cooking, Mother-Daughter Beauty Session, and a Fresh New Hairstyle
Greetings, amazing Steem family!
I hope you are all having a fantastic week starting off. Today, I am super excited to share how my Monday went. It was a cozy, productive, and truly memorable day filled with family teamwork, delicious food, mother-daughter bonding, and a whole lot of giggles.
Here is how my Monday unfolded from morning till evening!
🌧️ Early Morning Blessings & Kitchen Teamwork
My day started on a wonderfully refreshing note with early morning rainfall. There is something so peaceful about waking up to the gentle sound of rain tapping on the roof. It instantly set a calm and cozy mood for the rest of the day.
When I woke up and walked into the kitchen, I was greeted by a lovely surprise: my husband was already there, hard at work! We had planned out our meals for the day, and he had taken the initiative to get a head start. He was already prepping the ingredients for our Banga soup, washing the palm fruit carefully and getting everything set up. Once he finished extracting the rich palm juice, he placed the pot on the stove to start boiling.
At that point, I took over the reins in the kitchen. I added the spices, meat, fish, and seasonings, carefully letting it simmer into a rich, mouth-watering Banga soup.
Tip for great Banga: Patience is key! Letting the palm fruit extract simmer well with native spices brings out that authentic, deep flavor.
While the soup was bubbling away on the fire, I decided to tackle the sink. As every parent knows, motherhood is definitely not a walk in the park! My little "small madam" refused to leave my side. While I was washing dishes, she clung right to me, leaning against my back the entire time. It was a bit challenging to maneuver, but those clingy little moments are also what make motherhood so precious!
🍲 A Delicious Family Meal & YouTube Content Creation
Once the Banga soup was ready, the amazing aroma filled the entire house. I went ahead to prepare a warm plate of garri for small madam and set up the dining area for the family.
With everything hot and ready, we all gathered at the table to enjoy our meal together. The soup turned out absolutely delicious! Since we love capturing special family moments, we also took this opportunity to record some fun content for our YouTube channel. Combining a good meal with family video creation made lunch even more enjoyable.
💇♀️ Hair Transformation & Pampering Time
After lunch, it was time for some self-care and grooming:
- Shower Time: I gave my daughter a warm bath to refresh her after eating, and then I took a quick shower myself.
- Loosening the Old Hairstyle: We sat down together to unbraid her previous hairstyle. I took my time so as not to pull her scalp.
- Styling the New Hair: Next came the fun part—making a brand new hairstyle! Usually, my daughter can get quite restless during hair sessions, but today she surprised me completely. She sat so patiently and barely disturbed me at all! Because she was so cooperative, the whole styling process went smoothly and quickly. Seeing her big, bright smile when she looked in the mirror was worth every second.
💅 Mother-Daughter Manicure & Pedicure
Since my little girl was in such a cheerful and relaxed mood after her hair was done, I decided to extend our beauty session into a full home spa day!
- Daughter's Nails: I gently trimmed her fingernails and toenails using a safety nail cutter, making sure everything was clean and smooth.
- My Nails: Once she was done, I gave myself the same treat—trimming and shaping both my fingernails and toenails.
There is nothing quite like a fresh hairstyle and clean nails to make you feel completely refreshed and put together!
💬 Ending the Day: "Mama!" Every Two Seconds
After our pampering session, I tried my best to coax my daughter into taking a much-needed afternoon nap. But small madam had other plans entirely! She was full of energy and flat-out refused to sleep.
Instead, she decided her main mission for the rest of the afternoon was to call out "Mama! Mama!" every two seconds! 😂
At that point, I just accepted my fate with a smile. I kept answering her sweet little calls while sitting down to document and share my day with all of you here on Steemit.
