Chain of Goodness | An Act of Kindness to Kids in the Neighborhood

Today I will share to you the activity that me and my family usually do in our neighboring kids from time to time or every twice a month the least. We love feeding them with simple snacks as a way of giving thanks to the blessing we received in life and also by helping them get some nutrition and enjoyment out of little things we give to them. We all know that kids happiness is immeasurable and it really spreads or contagious as what we say.

Because we are living in a community where lots of families with no permanent job and mostly they worked in a construction firm while others are jobless and have no enough income that can feed their children and provide their needs. Some are also government beneficiaries they depend on the government aid monthly for food but that won't still
be enough because of other important things they will use from the money they get.

Most of the time my family and I will prepare chicken congee (we usually use pork because some of the kids are Seventh Day Adventist and they don't eat pork), noodle soup, spaghetti, stir-fried noodle, sandwiches, chocolate porridge and others that we can easily prepare to them. I decided to make chocolate porridge for them today since we have the available ingredients in my mini-store and a brown rice mixed with white rice (this is what we use daily).

We love this kids that's why my family always want to have them every time we have special occasions. They are always the first thing on our mind as visitors. There are also weekends that we are not busy we cooked and prepare snacks for them.

These are the following ingredients I have to prepare the chocolate porridge.

For their snacks today they brought their own utensils so that after they eat they can bring some for their siblings who was not able to come. We do this feeding from time to time. It doesn't need to be costly knowing kids appreciates little things and give back a wonderful smile on their faces. This is how we extend our help to the community where we live especially this time of pandemic that has not over yet, it is a struggle for the family who do not have a good income.

There's joy in them that after they played they will all be gathered for their snacks . We may not be able to provide their families needs but we just hope with this simple gesture will bring help and joy to them which really brought joy to me and to my family.

Helping people especially kids doesn't need to be expensive, we can even give them some sweets that won't cost a lot but they are thankful already from what they get. It is also a good example for them that there are people helping them or giving them snacks so as they grow old they will remember that and will also do the same thing to other people. It is so good to treat children so well, show love, care and respect so that as they grow they will learn and adopt the way how their elders have treated them.
