My Traveling Experience
Introduction
This season's celebration I will say it's the most stressful one for me. Maybe it's because I had plans to do allot of visitations which later didn't work as planned. The previous celebration for me had usually been me almost alone at home, then visit just one or two friends which i had plan to change on this one but didn't work out. Although I had a great time at the end.
This year is the first for me to be outside my home town till a day before Christmas. I had been in Jos, Plateau State with my Uncle for months and then my younger brother joined me there but he's coming was for a teenager's camp organized by the church on the 19th December till the 22rd December, 2021. After the camp we had a custom Christmas carol on the 23rd which made us travel on the 24th that's a day before Christmas.
Morning
The morning was cold and beautiful. Waking up with the taught of traveling to see my immediate family and because I love traveling gave it a different feeling.
We had the general devotion and I rushed to do the chores because we ought to travel very early to avoid the hold up on the way as heard from those that traveled a day before.
After the chores, I boiled water for our bath and I went first to bath in order to meet up with a friend's message which was to collect his wedding cake he gave a friend to help preserve.
I left home by 8:15am and got the cake at around 8:45am because it was quite a distance. I began to head back home and stopped at a POS shop to do an ATM cardless transaction to withdraw our transport because I misplaced my purse containing all my ATM cards some weeks ago. It was while I was there that I got a call from my mum to go to the market again and get something she forgot. I had to turn back to the market which I met hold up but got what I wanted and went back home.
By that time it was some minutes after 11am and the plan to travel early had been defited. My younger brother was ready when I got home, I rearrange our bags, we ate and packed our bags outside to say farwell to my Uncle which we got another delayance. He said we had to wait so he goes to withdraw money to give my younger because he was busy and didn't had the time to do that earlier. My uncle said it was necessary for him to do that because it was the first time my younger brother will sleep over in the house and was not nice to allow my brother go without him giving my brother any money.🤦
So, we had to wait for some minutes more.
Afternoon
We got to the park at about 12:47pm, waited for a while before we got a car and the car was not going to our final destination which mean we'll have to take another car home. We were the first passengers and had to wait for more passengers. The transport fee use to be 1500 naira to our home town but we paid 1400naira to akwanga yet to pay another fair home which we were not sure of how much it will be because of how the fee had increased.
We paid and sat in the car to wait which a man later joined the car making it 3 passengers. It's a small Peugeot car to carry 6 passengers, so we needed 3 more. The driver decided to take off hoping to get more passengers on the way and he got the 3 passengers just some drive away.

Evening
We arrived at Akwanga being a 30minutes drive to our home town at about 4:42pm and met the shoke of the day😁. Transport fee which use to be 300naira is now 700naira. When the man told me the price, I didn't argue but determine in my mind that I wasn't going to pay that amount. What I did was to pack our bags and began to walk down, going far from the park. I really thank God that our bags was not heavy. So, we walked for like a minute or two and stopped by the road to wait for any available vehicle. After like 10minutes or more, we got a car which the driver was willing to collect 400naira each as the transport fee😄. Omo..... My confidence was as if I bought a car and kept on the road🤣. That was how we got home around 5:27pm because the driver was taking his time with the wheel.
I couldn't rest while I got home because there was a lot to do before 25th. I made soya milk and awara (i.e soya bean cake) that evening. It was around 12:13am that I retired to my bed and didn't sleep till around 1am.
That was how my celebration started with so much hangover of stress and tired. But like I said, it was still a great time of celebration despite the tiredness and stress.
