Today I join this excellent initiative organized by the friend @steemwomensclub, where we will be talking about our favorite city.

Barquisimeto, capital of the Lara state, is a very beautiful city located in western Venezuela. It was founded in 1952 and has a population of approximately 1,430,969 inhabitants.

Traveling the world is the best, knowing places, other cultures, customs, gastronomy, is something that fills us with great emotion and this motivates us to continue fighting for our dreams.

8 years ago I had the opportunity to get to know this beautiful city and it fascinated me. Not only because of its beautiful places, but also because of the quality of the people who live there.

One of the things that most caught my attention is the Cathedral, it is huge, very beautiful, apart from the fact that its structure is totally different. The surrounding area is extremely clean and everything is very neat.

We visited a restaurant very close to the cathedral, the staff who work there gave us excellent attention. They even sat down to chat with us. They recommended lodging and some places that we could visit.

The patron saint of this beautiful city is the Divina Pastora, every January 14 an immense procession is held in her honor and it is considered one of the largest in all of Latin America after the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico. The barquisimetanos venerate her with special affection and devotion, giving her hats and dresses made of precious fabrics.

It has several national parks, shopping centers, museums, zoos, woods, theaters, monuments, spas, beaches and rivers perfect for sharing with the family and doing recreational activities.

The crafts are extremely beautiful, they work with ceramics, fabrics and wood. With ceramics they make vases, pimpinas, coffee cups, slab plates, jugs, pots and pans, figures for nativity scenes and fruit miniatures.

In the fabric line, the elaboration of enea hats, tablecloths, cocuiza sacks, marusas, hammocks and espadrilles woven in cotton with a rubber base or sole stand out.

With regard to wood, they manufacture tables, chairs and armchairs upholstered with cowhide or goat skin. Additionally, the development of string musical instruments such as four and guitar.

Another thing that characterizes this city is its extraordinary sunsets, without a doubt I can tell you that it is something that totally relaxes us and gives us a lot of peace of mind.

I am proudly Venezuelan and despite the fact that we are going through a bad situation, my desire to stay in my country and continue fighting is bigger than me. My country is very beautiful and has an endless number of beautiful places with which you will be completely in love.
