A Speech from a friend studying Midwifery!
I have many friends who have great plans for our country Ghana. Below is one piece one of them wrote. I hope you would like it!
"Ghana is a wonderful country which is still a developing country. As citizens we all have our roles to play in its development. There are many fields that she is lacking and from my study as a midwife, I would help in her to the best of my abilities. My ways are enumerated below,
Education being the key, most women are still of the notion that, giving birth in the house is better than that of the hospital. As a midwife, I know all women are entreated to take all the procedures of their pregnancy serious and should always be present at the time allocated for them for checkups and other screening. I would establish a well-known educational facility in my locality for women to be able to know the importance of going for checkups regularly when pregnant and how they should keep themselves in these periods to avoid being stigmatized.

Again, health is a very delicate issue and I can boldly say the resource of a nation is good health. Considering this thought, I then see the need for my community to have access to knowledge parting to first aid. There is the need for them to be trained to administer a patient before taking them to the nearby clinic or hospital. I would help in its establishment and the education of the youth.
From the above, that’s how well I can contribute to the development of my mother Ghana. God Bless Ghana.
