Although I am a man, I want to first talk about period in girls. I won't really go into details as that is not important right now. I am really sorry to say this but it is true, our parents don't relate with us as well as they should. Many girls get their periods in very embarrassing ways and it has a traumatizing effect on some girls. Imagine getting up from your seat in class and everyone starts laughing at you because you have a blood stain on your clothe. I mean, that would be very embarrassing, right? Yet many girls face similar situations on daily basis. Most people who laugh are boys, and that is irresponsible. I don't blame them; I blame only the parents who failed and continue to fail to administer proper parenting to their male children.
Every member of every family should be properly educated when it comes to taking proper care of girls. Some people feel period is disgusting, and I have zero respect for people like that as it goes to show how selfish and unreasonable they are, coupled with poor parenting. Every body should know how to count dates for menstrual cycle, use a sanitry pad/ tampon and how to administer medication to the affected female.
There are some girls who do not know when to expect their period and for that reason they are often taken by surprise. I don't blame girls when any mistake related to menstrual cycle occurs, It is a result of the cumulative failure of our schools, some irresponsible/ careless parents and our terrible society.
Another problem that needs to be faced is that of sex education. What is so wrong with telling children about sex? Absolutely nothing. Many people find it disturbing to tell children about sex and for that reason, they learn it from the wrong people and in the wrong way. As boys and girls grow, they become sexually attracted to one another and it is not scientifically unusual. What we should do is to tell children what sex is and give them proper reasons why they should not engage in it until they are adults. We should teach children about condoms and other forms of contraception tpo help prevent sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy.
Conclusion
I really care about people generally and their well being and I especially hate to see children get hurt and traumatized. I really talked about period and contraception because our homes and educational institutions are not doing enough to enlighten the general public. I just hope that I have been able to make common sense with this tiny piece of mine.
