Women's Labor Force | Coir Industry | 5% Womenclub charity

How are you...? Hope you all are well. Today I am going to tell you some information about job opportunities done by women. Those job opportunities are jobs related to the coir industry. Most of the jobs associated with this coir industry are held by women. They work here as part of their daily routine.

In fact, they do not make a lot of money doing such this jobs. But they earn a small daily income so that they can buy everyday necessities.

There is such a coir factory in our village. I went there and got some information about the jobs they do from the women who work in that factory. I also took some pictures about works. I will share that pictures with you through this post.

This coir factory employs about fifteen women. They have separate functions there for each other. They work there from morning till evening for the day pay. There are several steps involved in separating coir from coconut husks.

Step 01 :-

This is the first step in obtaining coir for spinning rope. Here coir and coir(kohubath) are separated from the coconut husks. For this, coconut husks soaked in water are inserted into this machine on one side. Then the coir is received on the other side of the machine and the coir(kohubath) is separated from the middle part of the machine at the bottom.

Step 02 :-

The get coir (kohubath) from the coconut husks is then finely chopped. The coir obtained in this way is sun-dried. After drying, they are processed and packaged for sale. Coir is a very good organic fertilizer. Applying them to the crop retains the water required by the plants.

Step 03 :-

Then, before grinding the coir obtained from the coconut husks, it is further put into the machine shown below to remove the impurities and obtain a clean coir.

Step 04 :-

The cleaned coir is then put into a machine for rolling. The remaining coir is then collected.

Step 05 :-

The next step is to connect the rope rollers to the next machine to grind the rolled ropes as above. What happens there is that the ropes are twisted.

The following figure shows another method of twisting the ropes. In this method, two people work together to grind the ropes. It also requires a cord spinner connected to electricity.

Step 06 :-

This final step involves assembling the twisted cords. It does so as follows.
