For this contest I bring you a nice "kitchen towel", made with scraps of cloth and towels that are no longer used, in this case I had one of my daughter that she left when she was a baby.

Para este concurso les traigo un lindo "Pañito de cocina", elaborado con recortes de tela y toallas que ya no utilicen, yo en este caso tenía una de mi niña que dejó cuando era bebé.

Step 1

Paso #1.

We make the pattern, on a letter type machine sheet

Realizamos el patrón, en una hoja de máquina tipo carta.

We draw a rectangle of 27 × 18 cm, and cut

Trazamos un rectángulo de 27×18 cm, y recortamos.

At the top end where we measure 18 cm, we mark the half that would be 9cm

En el extremo de arriba dónde medimos los 18 cm, marcamos la mitad que sería 9cm.

from that half, we mark 4 cm on each side.

desde esa mitad, marcamos 4 cm a cada lado.

Then we draw 10 cm on each side

Luego trazamos 10 cm a cada lado.

Step 2

Paso #2

Transfer the pattern to the fabric.

Trasladar el patrón a la tela.

We place the fabric that we are going to use, we put it on the wrong side of the fabric.

Colocamos la tela que vamos a utilizar , la ponemos doble al revés de la tela.

We place the pattern on top of the fabric, and mark

Colocamos el patrón encima de la tela, y marcamos.

We cut

Recortamos.

Step 3

Paso#3

We face the cloth right with right

Enfrentamos la tela derecho con derecho .

We cut a ribbon or a cord, 10cm

Recortamos una cinta o un cordoncito, de 10cm.

To place it in the middle remaining inside the fabric, and adjusting with pins.

Para colocarlo en el medio quedando por dentro de la tela, y ajustando con alfileres.

Leaving only the two ends of the cord or ribbon on the outside

Dejando solo las dos puntas del cordón o cinta por fuera.

Step 4

Paso #4

Cook all over the edge, leaving 1cm below uncooked, from one end to the other, and do not cook the bottom

Cocemos por todo el borde dejando 1cm abajo sin cocer, de un extremo al otro, y no cocemos la parte de abajo.

We fold that edge up and ironing

Doblamos ese borde hacia arriba y planchando.

We turn the fabric and ironing

Volteamos la tela y planchando.

Step 5

Paso #5

We cut the towel in half, the length is to your preference, I left it 34cm

Recortamos la toalla por la mitad, la medida del largo es a su preferencia, yo la dejé de 34cm.

Step 6

Paso # 6

We measured the towel horizontally at the bottom, it gave me 45cm

Medimos la toalla de forma horizontal en la parte de abajo, me dió 45cm

With that measure we cut a strip with the fabric. We add 2cm to each side. It would be 45 + 4cm = 49cm wide by 10cm long

We fold the fabric inside out 1 cm and iron.

We also fold the other two sides

Step 7

Paso #7

We place the strip on top of the towel at the bottom, we adjust with some pins

Colocamos la tira arriba de la toalla en la parte de abajo, ajustamos con unos alfileres.

We cook all over the edge.

Step 8

Paso #8

We double the towel by picking it up so that it is the same size as the fabric, we adjust it with a pin and use a needle and thread, then we put the edge of the towel inside.

Hacemos dobles a la toalla recogiendola para que quede de la misma medida que tiene la tela, la ajustamos con alfiler y vasteamos con hilo y aguja, luego metemos la orilla de la toalla por dentro.

We cook. I sewed it by hand first and then I made it Zig zag.

Cocemos. Yo lo cosí a mano primero y luego le hice Zig zag.

Step 9

Paso #9

We put a lace to cover the seam and give it a nice finish, and then we put a button

Le colocamos un encaje para tapar la costura y darle un bonito acabado, y luego le ponemos un botón.

We put silicone on the appliqué and glue the button.
