Today is my husband's sister-in-law's engagement day. We woke up early, preparing all the offerings to be brought. There are various gifts that are brought, including clothes, cosmetic tools, shoes, bags and so on. There is also a typical Aceh delivery cake that we didn't forget to bring, as a souvenir. This time the bride-to-be came from Medan, to be precise in the Marendal area. Meanwhile, my family and I from Aceh, departed the day before the engagement ceremony took place. Considering the long distance, we had to arrive early.

We have to travel overland, for 8 hours to arrive in Medan. The engagement ceremony will start at 11 am. We as a family have been preparing, since the morning, and left for the event house, at 10.30 WIB. Medan area is quite congested, it takes longer to arrive at the destination. And when we arrived at the house of the bride-to-be, we were greeted warmly and full of a sense of family.

The event started with greetings and introductions, then explained our aims and objectives. After we were received, and talks about the wedding ceremony, which is planned to be held in June 2022, we were treated to a banquet, appetizers, in the form of cakes and drinks. After that, we were also invited to eat lunch, since it was already Zuhur.

We all enjoyed the menu that was served. There are Pete chili prawns, grilled carp fish, vegetable soup, fried chicken and rendang beef. While the throat cooling drink, dragon fruit juice is provided. All are happy with today's event, my husband's younger brother engagement. After eating, we said goodbye, and they didn't forget to give us a gift, in the form of Amanda brownies.
