Steem Women's Club Community Contest #6 Promote Your Favorite City || Grand Awards ! || Obudu Cattle Ranch @meymeyshops
I am a Nigerian from Abia State, I live in Aba a city in Abia State.
When I was young, my father loves telling us stories of a tribe in the South Eastern Nigeria, they are the Efik people, occupying the State of Cross River. My father grew up there, schooled there and trade there for decades of years. He speaks and write their language Efik. He told us about their food, culture, tradition and their dressing. He was so enthusiastic about the people. I came to love them even as my father gave me their name, Inyang.
Let me tell you about one of the Efik cities, the most popular among all their cities, the name is OBUDU.
Obudu is a local government area and town in Cross River State, Nigeria. The area features a tourist resort, Obudu Cattle Ranch, which hosts an annual mountain running competition called the Obudu Ranch International Mountain Race. The town of Obudu is downstream from the Obudu Dam, which has caused acute scarcity of drinking water in the dry season. The town is approximately 17 kilometres away from Bebi Airport and is a 6-hour drive from Calabar, the capital of Cross River.
From the stories my father told us about Obudu, it is a place one should live or at least visit. The people of Obudu eats fresh foods mostly a combination different edibles.
These include:
porridge which could be made from yam, cocoyam, rice or plantain; a very special kind of Efik porridge dish made from cocoyam, water yam or a mixture of both is called Ekpañ-ñkukwọ. ... Rice porridge prepared with coconut juice or slurry and designated coconut-rice is another special dish of Efik origin.
Among all their varieties of delicacies, I love their Afan Soup. This is prepared with a kind of leave called Ukazi and Water-leave, added with enough oil, crayfish, dry fish as well as a mixture of goat meat and cow meat.
What about their style of dressing? They have a rich cultural attire you would love to put on. An African style of course. Check out one of their bridal attire.
Obudu town have a ranch, a sight to behold. Let me take you around the Obudu ranch, you will see why I love the place. Just follow me to the entry, come along.
Cast your eye to the first resort in the area, so lovely to lodge in.
Another site for tourism in Obudu city is this fountain, you may not have seen this kind before. Stand there and look over this fountain.
Have I shown you this resort below? No! Move on to the other side of the road to view it clearly.
Now let me show you how their festivities look like. Please take a selfie with one of the groups.
