STEEM WOMEN CLUB COMMUNITY: Chain of Goodness || Giving School Supplies to the Children and Evangelizing the Word of God

Hola Amigos ! Today I want to share with you our annual practice of teaching children the word of God every month of May.

VBS (Vacation Bible School) has always been a powerful outreach tool into community, and into the hearts and souls of children. Our church (Apostolic of the Lord Jesus Christ) initiated the VBS to evangelize the children and guide them in their spiritual growth. The VBS program was started since 1990 upto present. But sadly last year we were not able to held the program because of the pandemic that we suffered.

The VBS program lasted for 7 days and 3-4 hours per day. In 6 days they will study the word of God and learn a new song and in last day the 7th day is the Graduation Ceremony.

VBS is a great event to:

• Have focused prayer for kids to receive the Holy Ghost
• Invite new kids from your community
• Have fun with games, music, and exciting Bible-related activities

Last 2019 we fed 303 children with food and and taught them the word of God. Since they are many we divide them into 4 departments base on their ages.

Ages 4-6

Ages 7-8

Ages 9-10

Ages 11-16

Everyday we prepare a Bible lesson and fun activities for the kids. We desire that these children will get to know, love, believe, and live out God’s word in their lives.

After teaching them the Bible Lesson, we gave them an activity about the lesson on how they will practice or on how they will live the word of God that they learned in that particular day.

These are some of their outputs.

After the Day we prepared a snacks for them. Someone was assigned outside and instructed the children to form a line for the distribution of food to be organized.

Saturday night, we prepared the certificates, the ribbons and school supplies as a token to the children for their hard work in 6 days.

THE CLOSING CEREMONY

Same as regular school we also had an honor students in each department. We let their parents to come on stage and pin the ribbon for their kids.

In that day we assigned kids to summarize the lesson that they learned in each day. They will recite it in front of the stage.

As a teacher seeing them reciting the lesson that you taught is one of the greatest achievement. Dealing 303 children was not easy. So our Director recognized also the hard work of the all teachers and volunteers to help the program to be successful. The teachers and the volunteers also received a certificate of recognition.

Last part of the ceremony was their dance presentation.

Seeing their faces smiling receiving the little gifts was a priceless and heartwarming feeling. All the stress was relieved because of that smiles. Knowing that they appreciate all of our hard works.

Hoping that this year we will be able to initiate the VBS program again.
