why /How to shop effectively and cheap

Hello Steem women club,

It is a pleasure to make this post about some effective shopping techniques and a few reasons why I think they are advantageous. I find them very helpful in my everyday life and very useful to save money
.
Being female in most part of the world entails some responsibilities. These responsibilities could be stereotype sometimes, depending on what the people hold as values and culture
.
Thou this has changed a lot in present day as it's no longer termed a one gender "thing". One of these responsibility is shopping.
.
considering the sudden increase in price of food and house hold items especially after the
covid -19
pandemic, it's advicable to shop wisely but effectively to reduce how much you spend and increase your savings
Shopping according to your budget is a big deal the is no shame in it ,not every one earns the same ,why not make it better by buying everything on the list and have extra $ left.

1) Shopping with the season

I am sure you have heard this a million times and you probably like tsk tsk, I know this one but do you actually practice it effectively, let me explain, so some people have this idea that shopping with the season means eating the same food every day ,for example in the chase of someone that reside in Nigeria they might say that means making tomatoe stew through the tomatoe season. Well that's not it, I for one derive joy in diversity when it comes to my meals and I am sure the are lots of people like me.

So it means using more of these season foods (when they are in abundance and turn to be cheaper like tomatoes in the example earlier mentioned) in different dishes in different ways and not necessarily everyday .Be creative with it.

• Substitute the season foods that are more expensive in that particular season especially those that tend to have similar nutritional value/content.

2) Buying more for less

I have noticed that for some food items, the same quantities are sold at different prices. There are various reasons for this, one of these reasons is the;

• production cost of the packaging material that's used to preserve and contain the foods. In Nigeria for example most often the price of foods in sachet are cheaper than those in plastic which are cheaper than those in tin and bottles beginning the highest for the same quantity .

These different container or packing materials have different benefits, if non of the benefits are useful to you the going for cheaper will be a bonus.

• Also buying storage containers could reduce cost long term in addition it helps organisation ,your kitchen.

3) checking the expiring date

Now this is a big one because it not only involves the budget but our health too like they say , .

"it is health that is real wealth not pieces of gold and silver"
_Gandhi

Buying foods that our close to the expiration date can be a reason for waste, due to circumstances this food item might not be consumed at the intended time, having a further expiration date can highly reduce the chance that the food will be wasted because it expire.

• Make a habit of check the expiration date at the super market before purchase

Wow nice write up my dear @lisabel60. Thanks so much for sharing. I for one, love buying in bulk and making good use of seasonal food.
I got a problem in checking expiring dates. I am not always patient to do so. With this your post, I will try to improve. Thanks
