Goodmorning strong and beautiful women of these community. Barging again your friend @jenny018 for my entry on the Contest#20 which is the 5 favorite places in my city.

Now that we can’t tour yet, it’s nice to go back and look at our tour pictures of the different places we’ve been to. We are kind and reminisce about the times we spent with our friends that were really fun. I'm not inclined to travel far because I have children who are small and it's hard to leave them alone but I have a stroll within the city yet the place has lots of memories to linger to.

I guess everybody loves to travel but for now we'll stay at home first for we don't know the enemy yet and because of that let's travel back in time with my 5 beautiful places in my city.
To start with.

Kota Beach Resort and Obo-ob Mangrove Eco Park

Kota Beach Resort is located in Santa Fe Bantayan, Cebu Philippines wherein they are known for their beautiful white sand beaches and for their long shoreline.
Fronting the resort is one of the best stretches of white sand in the Santa Fe beach area.

It's my 1st time to reach the place together with my friends @aziel29 and officemates and I am really mesmerized by the beauty of their white sand beaches. The water is crystal clear and the whole area is really full of white sands and all I can say the place is really awesome. I made a promise to myself that once everything is back to normal I'll surely bring my whole family and spend a week vacation there because the whole place is like a paradise especially the sunset view is really a must see.
Plus the fact that the accommodation is really affordable so no worries for spending much.

Before the pandemic came, we with the church members has planned to do an island hopping in our chapter for it's a sort of bonding with the other members of the church chapter and because we have kids so bring them together for it's a chance for them to enjoy too.

From our house it's a one ride of utility jeep before we board the pumpboat for Island Hopping. The capacity of the pumpboat before is good for 50 pax but because of the pandemic only half can be accommodated, it is okay because it is very comfortable to ride and sit. The one way trip for island hopping is 5,000 pesos more or less 17sbd equivalent. In our itinerary of our trip supposedly it should be three islands stop over but because the current in the water is very strong so we reduced it to two. First stop is Sulpa, the island is small and no sign of people living in the area so the water is really clear and clean and there are little fishes who went swimming with us near the area. Then after taking our lunch we proceed in San Vicente Marine Fish Sanctuary we have so much fun there especially my little one Jacob who enjoyed so much in swimming. Here's a clip of him diving in the water fearlessly.

This is actually memorable because it's the 1st effectivity date of the lockdown but because we are hard headed so we proceed in our outing with friends from work and ended being trapped by the surged of people who are waiting for transportation on there way home still it's memorable experience for me because the place is away from the city and it's like we own the whole resort exclusive just for us, we merrily celebrated my friends birthday there and ended with laughs and so much fun and adventure after going home.

Best memories to linger til today, this was actually our birthday month so no planning at all and then there we just came out an idea to spend our birthdays together in the theme park and so great because we jive together except the other one who is really afraid to ride even the simplest carousel there but above all the day is really enjoyable and we even managed to reached work on time. It was indeed a happy and wonderful day for the three of us, there's also a snow world adventure but we are intolerance with cold so that's why we go out not on time.

Liberty Shrine/ Magellan's Marker

The last but not the least is our very own Liberty Shrine in Mactan. Lapu-Lapu City is also called as the "Historical Resort City" because of the great history and wonderful beaches that we are proud of and that's what we attract to the tourists and also because we "Oponganon's" has great pride in the illustrious past of our greatest hero Lapu-Lapu.

Mactan Shrine

The Mactan Shrine, located on Mactan Island, just of the coast from Cebu City, is a must-see for everyone interested in Filipino history. It commemorates the Battle of Mactan that took place in 1521 between the Spanish and the Visayan (central Philippines) native people in April 1521 and, along with paintings and plaques about that battle, it also contains two other important shrines -- the Lapu Lapu Shrine and the Magellan Shrine

The Lapu Lapu shrine is a 20 meter (65.5 feet) high, bronze statue of Lapu Lapu (circa 1491-1547 AD), the Filipino warrior king who commanded the native forces that fought the invading Spanish forces in the Battle of Mactan in 1521 and killed their leader, the navigator Ferdinand Magellan.

The Lapu Lapu statue is said to be on the exact spot where the battle was fought and where Magellan was killed.

The statue shows Lapu Lapu holding a sword in one hand and a shield on the other (these two weapons are said to have been used by Lapu Lapu in his combat with Magellan).

The Magellan Monument was built in 1866 by the Spanish colonial rulers of the Philippines. On one side Magellan's name is written in the original Portuguese language. On a second side is a dedication to "Spanish glory". On a third side is the name of the Spanish governor of the Philippines of the time (Don Miguel Creuz) and on the fourth side is the name of the Spanish monarch of the time (Queen Ysabel II).

Although Magellan is now regarded by many Filipino historians as the "enemy" who was killed by the national hero, Lapu Lapu, Magellan is still remembered as the person who brought Christianity to the Philippines (commemorated by Magellan's Cross Memorial in Cebu City) and as the commander of the fleet which achieved the first ever circumnavigation of the earth.
