in SteemWomen Club3 years ago

Hello Steemit friends!!! Kumusta po? I hope you are all doing great today.

I am @hulyootso and this is my first blog in the SteemWomen Club. I hope it will turn out okay. I am glad to have been in this positive and inspiring platform of Steemit. Everytime I read and look at the posts, especially in the SteemWomen Club, I always feel inspired of the different ways people helping other people. And I also thought of sharing mine. Thanks to my beautiful and loving wife @rosevillariasa for encouraging me to join Steemit and also share my/our stories here.

For weeks, I always support my wife with her cause of helping others, especially our neighbors in Mactan where we live and also our neighbors in Olango Island (my hometown).

And since it's Saturday and we make it a habit already to help/give something to someone, I am helping my wife distribute groceries (rice, noodles, canned goods) to three families in the neighborhood and feed children with our simple sandwich and juice.

First thing in the morning, after eating our breakfast, we went to my wife's co-teacher and get the shirts we ordered from her and her husband. Then, we went to the market to buy rice, noodles, canned goods, sliced bread, spread and juice.

We are planning to give three families rice, noodles and canned goods. And we also going to give the children a simple snack. We were able to feed 30 children and there are also adults, like mothers who were also able to eat the snacks.

First, we go to our neighbors' houses. We go visited first Nanay Maming who is already old and blind. She is living together with her son and grandchildren. His son does odd jobs, like doing plumbing works, catching fish for food, construction jobs, etc.

The second house belongs to the couple Renato and Marjorie. They have 5 kids. Renato is working as a truckboy and earns 400 pesos a day. But he works for 1-3 days a week only.

Then the last house belongs to Erning and Angelina. They have 4 kids. Erning is jobless because of his arthritis. He worries everyday of what his family will eat because he doesn't have any income. They are all very grateful for our simple gifts to them. Each of the families were given one shirt with the Steem SEA logo.

After distributing the groceries, we went home to prepare the snacks for the kids. And when we are done preparing, we let the kids line up into 2 columns. They were given slice bread and juice. And we choose 3 kids that we are going to give the shirt since we only ordered 10 pieces. There are still remaining 4 pieces and my wife is planning to have another feeding activity in Olango Island next Saturday.

The kids are very happy with the food. It is very simple and yet they are all very thankful.

I am very happy to have done another service for other people. It might be very simple and not that much, but I hope one day, we could help much bigger and more people.

Thank you so much for giving me the chance to share our experience here. Until next time my friends!
