Daily Dynamic Monday | 9 Routines that could make each day a success

So maybe your every morning is to always wake up 1 single hour before work, with that you speed up to get prepared. You shower, grab something to eat and maybe coffee then rush out. Yet, work leaves you overwhelmed and exhausted and before the week runs out you’re totally worn out. How can you get out of this "rush hour"? Routines.

MORNING ROUTINES

1.Rise Early
There are maybe exceptions like famous Winston Churchill who will wake up at 7;30am but stay in bed till 11:00am. Well, most high achievers normally wake up early so as to prepare for their day. Some benefits of this are an increase in productivity with fewer distractions that early morning, more creativity due to working with a fresh mind etc.
Even if you're not a morning person, you alone can decide to train yourself by waking up maybe 20 minutes earlier than your normal time.

2.Make Your Bed

Making up a bed

If there's a habit you need to learn that will improve your life, it's to make your bed daily. Makimg your bed every morning should be the first task you accomplish daily. It comes with this small sense of pride and pushes you to do the next task, then another and again another. It also reminds you that in life little things matter and if you can't do those little things correctly, you may never really do the big ones rightly. Added to that say somehow you had a bad day, you will get home to an already made bed, al least that won't upset you the more and encourages you for a better tomorrow.

3.Recite Affirmations
Affirmations are positive phrases use to change your thought about yourself and you day. They are like a method through which you can imagine good things that will happen to you that day or a way for you to overcome any negative self-talk.

Some simple but good affirmations are:

  • I am going to do great things today.
  • This year I will make ×××frs.
  • I am a highly respected teacher, nurse, driver, mom, doctor etc
  • I am a beautiful, confident and worthy woman.

The aim of this is to imagine the things you wish to happen. As you focus on them, you find yourself believing you can achieve them and subsequently this pushes you to take action toward them.

4. Eat a proper breakfast

Breakfast

The first meal of the day has a great effect on your ongoing achievements. You should stay away from foods containing high-fat or high-sugar for breakfast. Go instead for healthier choices like oatmeal, a smoothie etc. Think of foods with fiber and some protein. These will give you energy while setting a stage for you to make good decisions through the day.

5. Take a cold shower
Okay I know this point may sound a bit extreme but many people say and studies prove that taking cold showers in the morning helps to improve energy levels and your mood throughout the day. This is because the cold water increases blood circulation flow, burns away unhealthy fat and plays a role in the release of dopamine into our body.

EVENING ROUTINES

The end of every day is of much importance like the start. So adding routines for your evening will help you prepare for the next morning.

1. Prepare goals for the next day
Setting your goals for the next day comes with two things. One, it permits you identify tasks that are more important before daily pressures pop up. Preferable, the first hours of the day should go to solving tasks that are more challenging. Two, it lets your brain think over those tasks while you fall asleep. In a book written by Jason Selk, Tom Bartow, and Rudy Matthew titled "Organize Tomorrow Today: 8 Ways to Retrain Your Mind to Optimize Performance at Work and in Life, authors", they explain that the identification of goals may look insignificant but then writing down the most important tasks a night before will loosen your subconscious mind as you sleep and also free you from being bothered about not being prepared. And when you wake up, you might just have great ideas you didn't consider in relation to those tasks.

2. Reflect on today's achievements

Reflecting

It is easy to forget victories of the day after a long or tiring day. So taking little time when the day ends to go over your wins and celebrate will put things in a better view and encourage you for the next day. It can also assist you in overcoming all that discouragement that comes along with setbacks.

3.Prepare for the next morning

Preparation

You will reduce the level of thinking you would have done need in the morning by taking out time to prepare your things the previous day. Like you could choose the clothes you’ll wear, if possible prepare food you’ll eat, organize things you'll need for work or school. The less time or mental energy you use on those things, the more time and energy you have to do the things that really matter.

4. Tidy up
Imagine waking up to an untidy home, that definitely isn't a encouraging or exciting way to begin your day. Without regularly putting things aside or cleaning up you'll end up with a messy place. But then you can spend as little as 10 to 20 minutes at night to tidy up to reduce the stress in the mornings or let you prevent the speed cleaning sessions during the weekends. Even if its one thing you do, maybe clean shine your sink.

Thanks for sharing this with us, I personally can't sleep well without tidying up everything in the evening. All this things you've mentioned is possible because we were made in such a way that we can be adaptable to any situation.
