Twin Mothers in Some Part of My Town @ Steem Women Club // @goodspeed22 // 10% Post Payout

Hello dear friends,

Good evening, how has the day been? Hope it is nice and enjoying. It is good to be here again and to talk about Twin Mothers in some part of my town. Join me as I present it.

According to the Holy Book at Psalms 127:3 that says-

"Look! Sons are an inheritance from Jehovah;The fruit of the womb is a reward."

In some part of the world and up till now, children especially twins and their mothers are rejected as a "reward" from God. This is due to some believes that is held so dear. One of the compounds in my town Ohafia Local Government Area in Abia State of Nigeria still held such idea, that twins and their mothers are an abomination to them.

As a result, in this compound whenever a woman from this compound gives birth to twins, she and her children will not be allowed to live in this compound. She will immediately vacate her house and relocate to another area. But their father can leave there

Thus, this compound can only accommodate those women that do not give birth to twin children.

I was told during my visit this month that this mistreatment to twin mothers and their children still persist. So I decided to take a shot of the compound house, referred to in my language as Obu, where all meetings, decisions and every other matters related to the compound is taken by the elders of this compound. Below is the image of the compound under discussion.

This one storey building is a very old building, but was later renovated but the culture has not been amended.

From all this, I know women have a specific role to play anyway they are and we are fulfilling that assigned role by our Grand Creator. May we continue to cherish this privilege of being mothers.
