Video Tutorial | Copyright Issues Resolved - How to Find Free Images on Google?
Hello everyone!
As you all know, only free images can be used on Steemit. But unfortunately, we see a lot of users violating copyright laws. Some do it on purpose and some do it unknowingly. It is wrong either ways.
The reason is, most of the people don't understand what is plagiarism despite completing achievement 3 task in newcomers' community.
There are images on Internet which are completely free - can be used for commercial or non-commercial use. We can use such images in our posts.
But there are images which are not allowed for commercial use.
What is commercial use?
To use something for financial gain.
There is financial gain of whatever you post on Steemit. So if an owner of a picture or any other content doesn't want anyone to use his material for financial purposes, then it's pretty simple - We shouldn't do it.
We can't get away with it by providing the source or giving credits. In fact, crediting comes later, owner doesn't want it to be used in first place, whether you credit it or not.
There are Terms of Use provided by the website which you must read before using the content from that site.
The purpose of this post is to show you how to get free images on Internet and stay away from copyright content.
I have prepared a video in which you can see the simple procedure of finding free images.
I applied the Google filter of Usage Rights - Creative Commons and it displayed all the free images. If you look closely at the sites, they were all famous free image sites like: pixabay, pxhere etc.
Now I will show an example without applying the filter
You can see in the non-filtered search, I found image which was not allowed for commercial use. I could only use it for personal and non-commercial use.
So, I suggest everyone to always filter your image search on Google and do read the license details to know what kind of permissions are granted by the owner.
