The first thing you do is to get your ingredients from a local market.

Ingredients: Zobo leaves, Zobo Cloves, Ginger, Cinnamon, Date and water.

Method of Preparation:
Pick out the dirts from the Zobo leaves and keep. Wash all the ingredients. Pick out the ginger, turmeric, cloves, and date and pound everything together or better still – blend them with your blending machine.

Add your desired quantity of water depending on the size of your ingredients. Then pour your already blends to the pot with your cinnamon and turn on your gas stove. Allow to boil for about 10 to 15 minutes or more.

While its cooking, wash your pineapple thoroughly and cut to smaller pieces and add to the pot to cook alongside. Wash your Zobo leaves. Please don’t over wash so the reddish colours don’t wash away. I suggest you sharply wash it twice and add immediately to your boiling other ingredients.

Be watchful on it, to avoid overflowing out of the pot and turn gently for proper circulation. At your discretion that its well cooked and ready, then you can turn off the heat and bring down your pot of Zobo. Allow it to properly cool down.

Get a clean bucket, sieve (shifter) a big turning spoon, clean handle cup and water. At this point, pour water and mix together. Start separating the shafts with your sieve and add your desired quantity of water.
Depending on the quantity of Dates added, you might not need an artificial sweetner for taste. At your own personal choice you may add a little sweetner depending on how tasty you want it to be but avoid sugar.

Your delicious, tasty, mouth watering Zobo drink is made and ready to drink. Enjoy it.

Health Benefits of Zobo Ingredients:

Zobo leaves: May contains a few of the B vitamins and other nutrients that gives you energy and helps to detoxify your system. Zobo contains Vitamin C which raises the immune system of the body and studies shows that Vitamin C is high in dark red varieties of Hibiscus leaves. It can also be used for people who are anaemic.

It also contains antioxidants which helps the body to mop up free radicals that causes oxidation in the system. Ginger may help with weight loss too. In early pregnancy ginger tea is good for early morning sickness against nausea. Gingerol contained in ginger can help lower the risk of infections.

Tumeric:
Turmeric can prevent heart disease, alzheimer's and cancer, depression and arthritis. Tumeric also benefits the Liver especially for those suffering from malaria and typhoid fever.

Cloves:
Cloves contains fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Using whole or ground cloves to add flavor to your food can provide some important nutrients. Cloves is rich with antioxidants and can protect against cancer and kills bacteria. Due to the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in Cloves it can promote liver health, regulate blood sugar, promote bone health and reduce stomach ulcers.

Cinnamon:
Cinnamon can help with proper ovarian functioning and thus be effective in fighting infertility. Cinnamon has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It reduces blood pressure, blood sugar and relieves digestive discomfort.

Dates:
Date is an excellent natural sweetener. Date contains several nutrients that can help boost your ability to conceive. They are rich in vitamins A, B, and E as well as iron and other minerals essential for a woman to conceive and to carry a child through a full-term pregnancy.
Date is very Nutritious. It is high in Fiber, fight diseases, promotes brain health etc.
