El día jueves participé de una actividad organizada por mi amigo @ceparl donde tambien participó mi amiga @rosamariam y realizada especialmente para los niños más necesitados a unas calles dónde vivo. Invitamos a muchas personas para que donaran lo que estuviera a su alcance y así lograr que esos pequeños tuvieran un día diferente y extraordinario. Recolectamos juguetes y ropa en buen estado.

I participated in an activity organized by my friend @ceparl last Thursday where my friend @rosamariam also participated and carried out especially for the neediest children a few streets away from where I live. We invited a lot of people to donate whatever they could to help these little ones have a different and extraordinary day. We collected toys and clothes in good condition.

Me llena de satisfacción el recibir de regalo las sonrisas de las personas, en esta ocasión fue de unos hermosos niños, me sentí muy dichosa de formar parte de algo tan maravilloso como lo son este tipo de actividades. No es en la primera que participo entreteniendo a tantos niños y mucho menos la última.

Ese día fui una de las primeras en llegar junto con mis primas, acomodamos el lugar en el cual se iban a recibir a los niños. Todo fue de imprevisto para las personas que habitan en esa localidad pero igual contamos con muchas de ellas para realizar una buena actividad.

It fills me with satisfaction to receive as a gift the smiles of people, this time it was from some beautiful children, I felt very happy to be part of something as wonderful as this type of activities. It is not the first time I have participated in entertaining so many children and much less the last.

That day I was one of the first to arrive along with my cousins, we arranged the place where the children were going to be received. Everything was unexpected for the people who live in that town but we still had many of them to make a good activity.

Salimos a invitar a todos los niños que habitan allí y al cabo de una hora ya teníamos las mesas y sillas listas y llenas de niños y niñas. A la espera de los demás integrantes de la actividad se me ocurrió realizar juegos para el entrenamiento de los pequeños Todos quedaron exhaustos de tanto jugar y muy alegres. Más tarde cuando todos llegaron; ayudé a pintarles las caritas a varios niños mientras servían la comida para su almuerzo.

We went out to invite all the children who live there and after an hour we had the tables and chairs ready and full of boys and girls. While waiting for the other members of the activity, it occurred to me to play games for the training of the little ones, who were all exhausted from playing and very happy. Later when everyone arrived, I helped to paint the faces of several children while they served the food for their lunch.

Amo ver en los ojos de las personas que ayudo ese toque de agradecimiento y alegría que transmiten. Cómo estudiante de medicina integral comunitaria he visto a muchas personas con tantas necesidades que me han partido el corazón. Las puedo ayudar en ciertas partes pero no en general, me hace sentir tan mal el no poder hacer mucho, solo dar un aporte me frustra pero recuerdo que hay personas que al igual que yo se ofrecen en su ayuda.

I love to see in the eyes of the people I help that touch of gratitude and joy that they transmit. As a student of integral community medicine I have seen many people with so many needs that have broken my heart. I can help them in certain parts but not in general, it makes me feel so bad not being able to do much, just to give a contribution frustrates me but I remember that there are people who like me offer their help.

Muchas de las personas que me ha tocado conocer en el ámbito de la medicina tienen un toque de indiferencia cuando se trata de temas de caridad; tanto doctores como familiares de pacientes prefieren gastar su dinero en cosas de "valor" para ellos. En mi opinión no hay mayor valor que la empatía y la humildad. Ni mayor felicidad que la de recibir un montón de agradecimientos y alegría de parte del prójimo.

Many of the people I have met in the medical field have a touch of indifference when it comes to charity; both doctors and patients' families prefer to spend their money on things of "value" to them. In my opinion there is no greater value than empathy and humility. And there is no greater happiness than receiving a lot of thanks and joy from others.

Definitivamente no hay nada mejor que ver sonreír a los niños y notar en sus pequeños ojitos brillantes la felicidad que uno les puede causar. Dicen que los ojos son el reflejo del alma; y en ellos se nota inocencia pura.

There is definitely nothing better than seeing children smile and noticing in their bright little eyes the happiness you can cause them. They say that the eyes are the reflection of the soul; and in them you can see pure innocence.
