Les cuento amigas que unos de mi sueño era visitar este ciudad que es para mi la preferida de Venezuela se trata de Mérida para conocer sus costumbres y sus lugares muy nombrados, siempre soñaba vivir allá por ese clima frio de las montañas, ya que esta ciudad es una mezcla perfecta del frío del páramo y las sierras, lo contrario de mi ciudad natal que es costera y donde el sol siempre está radiante, yo soñaba con vivir en Mérida saber sus costumbres visitar cada rincón, pero la vida a veces nos sorprende con cosas inesperadas, para el año 2012 le iba a regalar este viaje a mi hijo quería que él conociera primero, pero las circunstancias de la vida no lo permitieron, ya que mi hijo murió en diciembre del año 2011 y esa etapa no la pude cumplir de ir a visitar esta ciudad tan hermosa, desde ese momento mi vida se derrumbó, pero no pierdo las esperanzas de ir por lo menos a visitarla y conocerla con mis propios ojos.

I tell you friends some of my dream was to visit this city that is for me the favorite of Venezuela is about Merida to know their customs and their very named places, I always dreamed of living there for that cold climate of the mountains, as this city is a perfect blend of the cold of the moor and the mountains, the opposite of my hometown which is coastal and where the sun is always radiant, I dreamed of living in Merida know their customs visit every corner, but life surprises with gives us unexpected things, for the year 2012 I was going to give this trip to my son I wanted him to know first, but the circumstances of life did not allow it, since my son died in December 2011 and I could not fulfill that stage of going to visit this beautiful city, from that moment my life collapsed, but I do not lose hope to go at least to visit it and know it with my own eyes.

Mérida es una ciudad de Venezuela ubicada sobre una meseta en medio de la región, entre las sierras montañosas de La Culata y Nevada, su capital es el estado Mérida, es una de las principales localidades de los andes venezolanos. Su hidrografía se compone de 4 ríos principales y algunas quebradas menores, su río más importante es el Chama, su relieve es casi plano, su vegetación está integrada por árboles de copa media a alta y helechos, respecto a su fauna está constituida por ciertas aves pequeñas y medianas como colibríes y loros . Posee un clima tropical con temperaturas moderadas debido a la situación geográfica de esta ciudad dentro de la cordillera andina.

Merida is a Venezuelan city located on a plateau in the middle of the region, between the mountain ranges of La Culata and Nevada, its capital is the state of Merida, is one of the main localities of the Venezuelan Andes. Su cultura se encuentra muy relacionada al folklore andino y tienen lugar varias festividades de origen local, en su mayoría de su procedencia, religiosa y algunas con alcance internacional, tal es el caso de la Feria del Sol, la más notable de la ciudad, que se lleva a cabo los primeros días del mes de febrero. Otras costumbres firmemente arraigadas en la tradición merideña, suelen asociarse con determinadas fechas, la del mes de diciembre que se realizan las patinadas navideñas.

Su gastronomía encontramos: la arepa andina, hecho a base de harina de trigo, la pisca andina, una sopa a base de papa y leche. Su música tradicional de la ciudad está marcada por los ritmos del vals, además, otros ritmos regionales o nacionales, como los pasillos, merengues y bambucos.

Sus principales actividades económicas son: la agricultura, la ganadería, la agroindustria, la truchicultura, las actividades de servicios asociadas a la Universidad de Los Andes y al gobierno regional y nacional. Mérida es uno de los grandes centros culturales, artesanales y universitarios del país.
Personalmente para mí Mérida es la ciudad mágica, llena de encantos, de ensueños, de coloridos, esta ciudad es también conocida como “la ciudad de los caballeros” en honor a todos estos caballeros nativos de esta región, ya que se caracterizan por ser amables y hospitalarios con las mujeres, bien sea de la región o las turistas.

En Mérida encontramos el Teleférico de Mérida, en su momento "el más alto y largo del mundo", era la mayor y más conocida atracción de la región. También encontramos muchos lugares, museos y parques que dan gusto visitarlos entre ellos puedo mencionar:

• El Páramo: Es un vía de pura montaña que se disfruta de paisajes naturales, allí se consigue personas comerciales como chocolates, café y sopa.

• El Valle un pequeño valle al noreste de la ciudad con pequeñas localidades y una oferta cultural y gastronómica sumamente variada, siendo el destino predilecto de los locales para un paseo de fin de semana

• La Capilla de Piedra: Esta iglesia fue construida en apenas cuatro años por el señor: Juan Félix Sánchez, utilizando solo rocas, sus manos y herramientas rudimentarias.

• La Venezuela de Antier:
  Es un parque temático donde se encuentra todas las ciudades de Venezuela por región donde se puede disfrutar a cultura, gastronomía, fauna y flora, además nos muestra como era nuestra Venezuela en aquella época, es por eso que es necesario adquirir la moneda de aquel tiempo para poder disfrutar sus instalaciones.

• Los Aleros:
  Es un pueblo donde venden flores entre ellos los frailejones y hay lagunas pequeñas, aquí se disfruta de os paisajes naturales.

• Pueblito Sueños del abuelo:
  este lugar se localizaba en la vía al páramo la Culata y es muy famoso es un parque en miniatura se puede apreciar todas las casas, iglesias, cines y tiendas en miniaturas, allí las personas pueden hacer un recorrido y es especial para los niños, también allí se encuentra un sitio donde venden chocolate caliente y otras cosas.

• Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada:
  En este parque se encuentra los únicos glaciares existentes en Venezuela, los cuales presentan cumbres de nieve perpetua durante todo el año.

• Parque de los chorros de milla:
  Es uno de los famosos es mas interesante parque, tienen una hermosa cascada, con lagos, una bella vegetación y un pequeño zoológico donde se disfrutan por sus diversas atracciones.

• Laguna de Mucubají:
  Esta laguna se encuentra dentro del Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada. Este es un paisaje perfecto para las fotos, Ya que sus aguas en horas del sol parece un espejo. Esta laguna posee una profundidad máxima de 15 metros y en sus frías aguas hay una gran cantidad de truchas.

• El Parque Beethoven:
  Este parque está ubicado en la Urbanización San Ana Norte. Se le llama así por su atractivo reloj musical que cuando da cada hora salen unos "enanitos" mecánicos que hacen sonar unas campanas interpretando melodías de Beethoven.

• Sierra Nevada National Park:

• Parque de los Chorros de Milla:
  It is one of the famous is more interesting park, have a beautiful waterfall, with lakes, beautiful vegetation and a small zoo where they are enjoyed by its various attractions.

• Mucubají Lagoon:
  This lagoon is located inside the Sierra Nevada National Park. This is a perfect landscape for photos, since its waters in sunny hours look like a mirror. This lagoon has a maximum depth of 15 meters and in its cold waters there is a great quantity of trout.

• Beethoven Park:

This park is located in the San Ana Norte neighborhood. It is called this way because of its attractive musical clock that when it strikes every hour, some mechanical "dwarfs" come out and ring bells interpreting Beethoven's melodies.

También encontramos muchos sitios para comer el cual la hace muy popular esta ciudad entre ellos encontramos: Truchicultura Valle Rey, Pizzería Da Enzo La Nota y la heladería Coromoto, entre otros, por cierto esta heladería Coromoto es muy famosos por la variedad de helado, además esta Heladería cuenta desde el año 1991, con el Record Guinness como la heladería con más sabores de helado en el mundo, con más de 863 diferentes y aumentando .

Otras de las cosas más resaltantes que podemos ver en esta ciudad es el frailejón con sus flores de largos tallos y hojas aterciopeladas, ellos pueden sobrevivir los cambios de temperatura, ellos adornan las montañas y pueden vivir muchos años.

Para mi fue grato mostrar una parte de mi país que aunque no lo conozco personalmente para mi es sinónimo de orgullo traerlo aquí a esta plataforma y que a través de esta publicación puedan conocer esta hermosa y encantadora ciudad llamada Mérida.
